The TS100-E5/PI4 from Asus is a great server for home offices or small businesses that do not have the need to invest in a rack system. It would also work well as a workgroup or remote server. Asus has engineered the system to maximize cooling efficiency so fan speed could be minimized. Fan speeds are all thermally controlled so they only work as hard as they have to.
The Quad-LAN setup integrates the 4 Gigabit Ethernet ports into a single effective port so you get almost 4x the bandwidth of a single port. Failover support keeps the data flowing even if there is a port failure. Or you can split the ports and use them in individual sub-nets.
Asus has put hardware RAID controllers on the motherboard so you get powerful data security without having to use CPU cycles to control it.
