Question 1

I'd like to know if the box contains a DVD or a USB flash drive for its drivers and software? Since optical drives are becoming a "thing of the past," it's important to know this information!

Hi there,
so basically a DVD was included when I bought my board.

But all the basics like Network drivers do work out of the box with windows 10.
So what I normally do is just install the OperatingSystem go online and download the latest drivers from there. (Because I also don't own a DVD Drive)

Wasn't a problem for me.
Worked just fine.

Is the BIOS that comes on the motherboard out of the box updated to work with Ryzen gen 2 chips?  Things may SUPPORT Gen 2 but I had a MB I returned to another store because it wasn't flashed OOB.

Yes. The motherboard came out of the box and worked with my Ryzen 5 2600 as soon as I turned it on. There was a BIOS update but the board still worked fine without it and it was no problem to flash it with a USB drive after downloading it from the ASUS website.

Question 3

With the Aura Sync RGB lighting and additional RGB header on the motherboard itself, is there an option to turn this off in the BIOS settings? Is their a way to turn off RGB lighting completely when motherboard is on or in use?

Can be done in UEFI BIOS. Disable Aura in Ez Mode w/ F4. Disable RGB completely in Advanced Mode -> Advanced -> Onboard Devices Configuration -> RGB LED Lighting.

Does this motherboard work with MSI RTX 2060?

I am not sure but I see no reason why the ASUS TUF B450M-PLUS GAMING would not work with the MSI RTX 2060: the motherboard is not all that large and my concern would be the size of the case into which you place the motherboard and graphics card (as well as having a power supply that meets your needs).  I have a MSI Radeon 580 graphics card in a mid-tower case and have no problems.

Does this motherboard require a separate graphics card?

It can use an APU's graphic card. So, if you purchase, say, a Ryzen 5 2400G there will be no need for a separate graphics card.

Does this board support the ryzen 3000 series our of box or will it require a bios update?

As long as you are using a 2nd generation or 3rd generation Ryzen CPU you should not have to use a first generation Ryzen CPU. Note if you are using a 2nd or 3rd generation Ryzen and your BIOS is 0409 or older you'll need to update the AMD chipset driver to 18.10.20.02 to flash to either BIOS version 0601 or 0604. If you're interest in flashing to a BIOS version greater than 0604, you'll need to update the AMD chipset driver to at least 18.50.16 or newer to be able to flash to BIOS versions 0809 or higher (i.e. 1002, 1003, 1201, 1607, 1804, 1814 or 1820).

If I'm using a dual height video card and want to use an NVME hard drive, am I out of luck or can I use the drive in the lower PCIE slot?

Did you really mean to say dual height or dual width (i.e. taking up two PCI-e slots)? The NVMe drive can be either a SATA or PCI-e x2/x4 and you should be able to use the existing M.2 socket on the board. If you're looking to install a 2nd NVMe SSD then the only other place would be one of the 2 x16 PCI-e slots, although you may not be able to run it at full speed in the lower x16 slot which is PCI-e 2.0. I am running mine in the M.2 socket and I am also using a dual-slot video card which obscures a PCI-e x1 slot

Type C in the rear panel, as for cases with front usb it will utilize regular usb 3.1 located at bottom of mobo as shown in the photos.

I've been having trouble getting hard drives to be recognized by the MB & when I got it to recognize one it crashes when I try to install Windows 10 from USB. I have a friend who is more knowledgeable about computer assembly than I looking at it right now & he is stumped. Is this some kind of rare defect or did I mess up my initial assembly so bad I wrecked the board or case? As things currently stand those seem like the only likely problems unless someone can elucidate.

Sometimes, a "new" hard drive needs to be "readied" for a motherboard.  Both Western Digital and Seagate offer a customized version of Acronis True Image as part of their support software downloads (for setting up/initializing a disk).  Once you use the software to add the disk (make it ready for recognition by the motherboard and the operating system), you can type "disk management" in the search window at the lower left and then use the disk management window to format and formally add the disk by giving it a name, drive letter, and create partitions.  It is a bothersome series of steps but it has been very reliable in readying a new disk to be added to a existing operating system.  If you want to install the operating system to the new disk, you may need to use the vendor version of True Image to set up the disk before starting the software install from a USB drive.  If the hard drive is not recognized as a destination for the operating system by the windows install software, you may need to have the disk processed using the disk management software on another computer (this has happened only rarely for me). I plan to use the AMD Ryzen 3 2200G processor with the ASUS TUF B450M-PLUS motherboard.  I've seen several comments on other motherboards about built-in graphics not being supported.  Does this board support the built-in Radeon Vega 8 Graphics of this version of processor?

Yes, I can confirm that I have built about a dozen systems with this board that all worked fine with the Ryzen 2400G Vega 11 graphics.

What most people are referring to is that there is no on-board graphics.  So if you were using a Ryzen 2600 or 2700x or instance, those do not have integrated graphics on the processors.  Some people are used to the old AMD systems from a decade ago where the GPU was actually apart of the motherboard.

So yes, your 2200G will have video out via the motherboard display output ports.
