I bought this motherboard 3 months ago with a Ryzen 7 3700x and it worked out of the box. No need to update bios! The motherboard box will say "Ryzen 3000 series ready"

I believe any new board sold will already be updated and ready since these processors have been out for a while now.

Yes. Mine did and it is uncommon for a new boards to not come with one. This listing shows the i/o shield in the images and has it listed in the "Package Contents" one the specs tab.

Yes it does, you can check Asus’s website on the compatible CPU’s for this motherboard, but to save you the time - AMD Ryzen 5 1600AF is compatible with this motherboard.

Can this MB boot Win 10 Pro from a Samsung 970 EVO with AMD Ryzen 5 3400G w/graphics?

I have it booting from Win 10 home with a 3200G and Samsung 970 EVO. Works just fine. I had a second 970 EVO in there that wasn't seen by the OS. I didn't know you need to go into disk management, format the drive, then set a partition. Again, this was for the second drive. The M.2 slots run at different speeds, so I would only install 1 slot first, get the OS installed on that slot, then add the second slot later.

Check ASUS's official BIOS firmware page - version 3202 (June 2021) and onward supports Windows 11.

Do you mean how many watts does the motherboard consume under full load? It is a decent rule of thumb to rate your power supply for CPU + GPU + 100W for everything else (mobo, 1-2 HDD, optical drive, and 2-4 sticks of RAM).

Personally No ,,  But if you go to the Asus support page for the MoBO it will tell you what chips are supported by which Bios version and you can determine if you need to flash your board or no
