Hi I was wondering if I can use this for my ASUS X200M Notebook? Or if there is a compatibility list that I can use to locate a replacement for my wireless adapter? Thanks!!!!

It should work. While I do have that same notebook and the adapter I have not tried it in there. This is an external USB adapter, so as long as the laptop/desktop is running Windows 7/8/8.1 it will work, however you need to install the drivers included in the CD or download them from Asus web site (recommended so you get the latest version)

It says under the specs that it is IPv4 which is what we currently use, I'm assuming that it's upgradable to IPv6 also but since it's not mentioned I thought I'd ask if anyone knows whether it's capable of using IPv6?

It is not IPv6 according to everything I have read. But since every router they make through asus is IPv6, it may be capable, but not listed. I find the included software really a pain, use windows to control the connection. It does work great as long as you don't use their networking software.

Yes, this works great on Win 10. Currently running my Win 10 Pro desktop. Please note your system will only register this device through a USB 3.0 port.

can this be used for a laptop that does not have a CD drive?  How would one use the included CD if the laptop does not have a CD drive?

You would have to search: "Asus USB-AC55" & go to Asus's dedicated website for the product & look for the "Support" icon. The driver comes packaged as a "utility" zip file (UT_USB_AC55_1006.zip) that can be extracted natively within the Windows OS. Click the setup.exe icon within & choose whether to install the drive & utility program for the product or merely the driver for basic functionally. I chose the driver & utility program, one of which I don't really use.

I just took the AC-55-1300 out of the box, ran the driver installer, and plugged it in. I don't have a blinking blue light, and the utility doesn't detect the device. Nor does Windows. Do I have a dead device?

To ensure that the adapter really is dead, change the USB port it's plugged into.  Another thing you can try is plugging the adapter directly into the USB port and not using the cradle.  If both of those don't work, I would think the adapter is dead.

Yes, you need to install the Asus utility though because Windows will not install the drivers automatically.

I've had this since 7/28/2016 yet for some reason it stopped working. I've unplugged, plugged it back in several times, restarted my pc and reinstalled the software. I'm not sure where to go from here?

Hi Mitch,

Are you still getting a blinking blue light on it?  If not, you may check the USB port that you have it plugged into on your PC to make sure it has a good connection.

Hi, Some USB-to-WiFi adapters specify that they are ad hoc and/or infrastructure mode compatible (I am currently using 2 USB 2.0 WiFi adapters in ad hoc mode - but want more speed so I am considering this USB 3.0 WiFi adapter). The "Specifications" section here and on the manufacturer's website do NOT state whether this USB-to-WiFi adapter is ad hoc and/or infrastructure mode compatible. Has anyone here successfully run this particular adapter in ad hoc mode connected to a USB 3.0 connector? Thanks!
