I have a xbox 360 and i run it to my flat screen via HDMI but recently mt TV has been on the fritz is there a way that i can use the asus monitor as a replacement until i fix my tv? Also if i can can i use my HDMI cord? If not what do i have to buy?

Hi, I bought one a few months ago for my desktop and am planning on buying another in order to have dual monitors. It does have HDMI and VGA support.

Very high quality and a great size for a desktop monitor. I wouldn't recommend getting it for a console if you're sitting several feet away, as it's not very big when compared to most flat screen TVs, but if you're about 1-2 feet away from the screen it's great.

Yes it does.  HDMI is a video source that includes audio in the connection.  It also has a DVI port, which is just video.  If you want to connect audio to this monitor with DVI, there is a 3.5mm jack for it.

does this have speakers or speaker connections?

Yes, it has speakers.
It has 3.5mm Mini-Jack input as well as a 3.5mm output for headphones.
Quality isn't amazing.

If you're going to use HDMI and want to use the monitor's speakers, make sure you can output audio through HDMI. The 3.5mm audio input is automatically disabled when receiving HDMI.

I've only used this monitor with Windows 8.

The one I received is the H model (I ordered this exact one)

I know this probably been asked numerous times, but it is my first time experience purchasing a PC monitor via online and was wondering if its Window 8/8.1 compatible?

You are talking about a monitor. It will not mater what operating system is used. This monitor will work as long as your computer has a video output that matches the input to this monitor

Is it a glossy screen?

its a smooth screen so not quite matte but glares aren't to bad like most glossy screens. i Love this monitor

Mine has a 3.5mm jack as well as a digital out port in the back. I haven't used them but, as the monitor works great, I'm guessing the audio ports probably would, too.

Yes, as the picture shows it does come with a DVI-D Single Link cable as well as a VGA, 3.5mm audio cable, and the power cable.

I have an ASUS EN7300GT Video Card that I has a DVI-I output...  Is this monitor compatible when it uses a DVI-D input???

The monitor will work with DVI-I or DVI-D. The DVI-I carries both digital (modern) and analog signals (older CRT). A DVI-D cable will connect from your graphics card to the monitor. Also note that DVI and HDMI are the same signals. The only difference is that HDMI also carries audio. You can get cables that go from DVI to HDMI or vice versa. This monitor will handle HDMI, DVI and the old VGA.
