Does not have a cd/dvd drive. If you want to use a CD or dvd you'll have to buy an external drive. About $15

Are there any screen defects or damage or is the "scratch and dent" related to the scratches on the lid?

The only physical defects I noticed were a few minor scratches and one very small dent. The screen, keyboard, and ports all worked as expected. There were no dead pixels and the touchscreen was responsive.

I replaced the hard drive with an SSD upon receipt so I cannot comment as to the state of the hard drive and OS. It booted up correctly, but I did not test it thoroughly.

If you don't mind some minor cosmetic issues, this laptop is a steal. I would recommend replacing the hard drive with a solid state if you can. It makes a tremendous difference.

Win 8 64 bit is simply the operating system that comes with it. As far as I can tell b-grade means there might be a slight flaw with the laptop.

I bought one of these and it had a tiny blemish on the screen. Did not bother me.

Make sure you upgrade the drivers for wifi and the trackpad if you buy this.

Overall I am happy with mine at this price of 299.

It means that it could have some scratches.  I have one of these same machines and mine had a couple tiny scratches on the outside.  I'm typing this answer from it now.  I really LOVE this machine.  Perfect size!

What does B grade mean?

B grade means some dents/scratches or blemishes, you can call it not new but slightly worn.  Mine had a small scratch on the top that was the size of a pinhead.  It also had some scratches on the side edge of the top that if you were looking hard you couldn't see.  Nothing that I was worried about or you can tell.  I can't say for others as to what their "blemishes" were.  It's well worth the price I paid and would purchase another.  The only thing I hate is win8 and the trackpad can be a little touchy at times.

Generally refurbished, maybe a few minor blemishes. I was very happy with B grade, felt like I drove a new car off a used car lot without having to pay new car price.
