What is the aspect ratio for this monitor? Is it actually an ultrawide 21:9 or is it 16:9.

Is the frame matte black? (and not glossy/relfective which is hard on the eyes)

The frame is not very shiny/glossy in my opinion, I would say its definitely more matte. Pretty happy with the product so far, had it for 1 year, no complaints!

Is this a Matte or Glossy screen? It doesn't say in the description or specifications, but it does appear to be in the pictures (which aren't always correct). The Asus website doesn't state which it is either, nor do any of the few reviews I've seen. I just need to verify that it is a Matte screen before purchase.

This is a matte finish.   I don't notice window glare or any reflection in my office with a lot of windows

Am i able to play games in 2560 x 1080 (2K)? The recommended resolution says 1920 x 1080.

The native resolution is not 2K.
I am using a gtx 980 with dsr enabled.
Looks great in any game.
I also bought a QNIX 2K monitor.
I am very happy with that monitors picture.

What is the difference between the VN289QR and the VN289H?

According to their web site the VN289H had 2 x HDMI.  QR also gets DP and DVI.
