I need to install dual monitor setups in my small office. Desktop space is extremely limited (so is my setup knowledge).  We are running computers w/ AMD A6 processors and 8GB of ram, win 7 pro. Can this product function as a suitable split screen device for running multiple apps side by side?  What would be the preferred hookup?

Yes, this monitor would function fine in a dual monitor set up. It is a beautiful monitor with a great picture. I might recommend that you look at something with higher resolution as this one tops out at 1920 x 1080.

As far as setting up a dual display all I can tell you is that you will need a video card with two outputs, which you may have to purchase and install separately. As far as setting it up beyond that I am not able to answer that here. If you cannot do it yourself, and do not wish to hire a professional, then it is best if you find a friend or a friend of a friend to do it for whatever fee or consideration you can negotiate. does this truly have a dvi-d and displayport connector?

The monitor only has d-sub, HDMI, and display ports on it.  It does come with a DVI-D to HDMI cable though so you can use the DVI ports on your video cord.

What is the refresh rate of this monitor?

The refresh rate is really quick, somewhat comparable to a movie. I see very little flickering. I'm building a new lab and this is the monitors we will be installing.

The text looks fuzzy and jaggy. It also has a halo like effect. The video is fine. I'm using sRGB mode as this has perfect balance of brightness and color fidelity.
I've Radeon 5770 graphics card and checked all the settings in Catalyst. Also tried Win7 TrueType font settings. No change.
The text almost seems it out of focus or may be it due to 27" monitor display 1080p. Is there anyway to sharper the text?

I haven't had any difficulty with this monitor at all. The text was a bit of an issue at first, but adjusting the contrast and brightness took care of that right away. There have been several updates to my NVidia 6890 video card drivers since I purchased the monitor. Every time there is an update the monitor looks better and the text is more robust and easier to read. You might try updating your video card and work with the contrast and brightness to solve your issue. Good Luck!

Can you Mount this monitor?

No. There aren't any VESA mounts on this monitor. The stand that is included is nice and solid however. While I really like this monitor, if you're dead set on a 27" monitor, and you have the extr cash, you may want to look into a 1440p like the ASUS PB Series PB278Q 27"

Can this monitor be used with a mid 2010 MacBook Pro running OSX Mavericks?. Thanks

Hi George,

You will probably need an adapter for a Mac. As far as I see, your laptop has Mini DisplayPort (DP). Monitor has HDMI, VGA, and DP output. So, you will need a Mini DP to HDMI or DP in order to use view quality of the monitor. Monitor doesn't come with any HDMI or DP cable as well. There is a  HDMI-DVI cable in the package which you can use if you have a Mini DP to DVI adapter. Hope this helps.

Refresh rate is 60 Hz at 1920x1080 at 5ms response time. If you are looking to play competitive first person shooter then you can worry about looking for a higher refresh rate monitor at 120Hz or 144Hz which cost about the same amount. If you are planning to play Role Playing games or Strategy Games then this is the monitor for you. The picture quality will make the difference while playing. Also if you casually play FPS games it has a built in crosshair overlay you can activate for those games where you do not have crosshairs for guns like sniper rifles and what not.

Does this monitor have the GamePlus feature where you can overlay a crosshair/timer on the screen? More importantly, can you adjust the crosshair position on the monitor once overlayed on top?

No, this monitor does not have Gameplus. Being an IPS panel with a 60hz refresh rate, this monitor is more of a higher-end consumer monitor versus a gaming monitor.

hi - i have these in white and want to raise them.  please let me know what r my options?

Unfortunately I'm not aware of any way to raise them just by themselves. You'll have to put it on a sturdy shelf or some books to get it raised. I have seen another version of thid monitor that has an adjustable stand.
