How does this model compare to the older WL-330gE model and does it come with a carrying pouch anything like the one the 330's came with?

I have this exact model and an earlier version, but I don't recall the model of that one and I don't remember if he comes with a carrying pouch.  I used had both versions and I use it as a wireless network to my computer.  The new version is more faster and seems to be a little more stable (without) reset the network card.

Can I hook up my Hp4050n by ethernet cable and be able to print to it over a wifi network?

The ASUS WL-330N will allow you to wire the ethernet port from your printer into your network with a wireless connection. Your printer will think it has an ethernet cable connected to your router or switch. Your printer can then obtain an ip address from your router or DHCP server.

Any devices on your network (i.e. Desktop or Laptop) can be configured to conect to it via TCP connections.

As far as adding in an IP printer with XP, it is fairly simple.

Control Panel / Printers
Add Printer
Local (No automatic detect)
Create a new port
Standard TCP/IP port
Enter in the IP address of the Printer
Then add in the drivers when requested.

For Windows 7 It is pretty much the same Add a printer, select add a port and choose TCP/IP from the drop down.

Can I plug a USB camera in to this to make it a wirelesss network camera?  What about a USB hard drive?

If you can plug a device into an Ethernet port and do X then you can plug it into this device and do the same.

It just replaces the wire. It doesn't do anything else.

will a usb netgear 341u connect to this router in order to provide a wireless signal for multiple users?

While you can't plug that device into this one directly, you should be able to accomplish what you are trying to do by connecting the netgear 341u into a computer as it is designed to be used, then plug the Asus WL-330N into the ethernet jack of the computer and set the wireless mode to something that accepts connections from other computers (this can be done from the web UI for the ASUS, or using the software on the CD). Assuming you are running Windows, you would have to go into the Network control panel and use Internet Connection Sharing or Bridge the connections for the ethernet and netgear adapters.

If you plug the netgear device into a laptop, you should be able to do the same as above with the builtin WiFi, which would eliminate the need for this Asus device.
