Is this Windows 8 compatible?

I'm sorry but I'm not able to give a clear answer. My machine is running windows 7. 
If I would guess I think you would be ok. Compatibility of hardware designed for XP has somtimes problems runing under windows 7 (printer drivers from my experience).
Since windows 8 is mostly based on windows 7 I think its worth trying this sound card.
I'm extremely happy with the performance of this card. My speakers are Logitech z5500 and the card is a nice upgrade over the soundblaster audigy I used to have. If you are a true audio lover I suggest an external soundcard but for the quality and cost of my card/speakers it is more then i need for a computer room. Hope this information helps. Newegg rocks! Question 3

Does any one use this with the razer Timat 7.1? I bought it just for that and I cannot for the life of me configure it properly. First off The Left Speaker plays in the center channel and the center comes out on the left. the right and the rub are reversed and the left and right back are almost to quiet to hear. I also cant get the mic to work, Did i get a bad card or and I to dumb to operate this?

1st off you are correct!  The drivers SUK!  However, you most probably have the wires in the wrong holes [pertaining to the speaker problem].  1ST.  Make sure you have the onboard sound card disabled in the bios.  2ND.  Once you get this straightened out uninstall all the previous installations and reboot and then install the drivers again.   3RD.  Go into windows and setup your mic and all the drivers to use the Asus card.  Hopefully it will have done it it self.  And set the mic up as the default.  Do not use any software programs from Razer.  4TH.  Holding the wires the one next to the hdmi goes into the 3 hole, the 2nd wire goes into the 1st hole, the 3rd wire goes into the 2nd hole [pink for the mic], the 4th wire goes into the 5th hole, and the 5th wire goes into the 4 hole.  And don't forget to plug in the HDMI plug.    And if you still have a volume problem try adjusting the top knob on the tiamat and set it to the speakers that you are having trouble with and adjust properly to where you want it.  And then turn the knob back so as the green line is pointing straight up to line up with main volume. Good luck and let me know how you make out.  And then pray.  When it works it works great with the Tiamat 7.1.

How does the sound quality and Linux compatibility compare to an Integrated Realtek chip? I currently have a  Realtek 1150 on my ASUS X79-DELUXE, but its acting up in Linux.

I can't speak to the quality of the Realtek sound except to say that most decent audio cards should perform better than on board audio. I can however say that  the Xonar card works fine for me on Ubuntu 13.10 and openSuse 13.1. I have used the S/PIDIF optical and the Analog outputs.
I use this card for Digital Music Playback (FLAC) and Movies.

IS Latency low? (ASIO?)

There is some latency.  I record a lot of phone interviews and have noticed it.  I keep the monitoring volume down to where I can hear the caller ok...and it works out.  The card itself performs very well.  I do a lot of audio editing and voice work so it does a good job.  I hope that helps.

Will this sound card work with PCI Express or when it say PCI does that mean a different thing?

PCIe is an entirely different system of main board slots. PCIe are smaller (x1,x4,x8) than PCI but PCIe x16 that its mainly for graphic cards. If you see PCI means old system so be careful because mainly they will support old OS like XP and Vista and some of them do not upgrade drivers for new OS like W7 or 9.

Do you have disable on board sound in the BIOS on a M597 le 2.0 to use this card ?

I am not familiar with that particular board but every MB that I have had you can turn off any on board device.  It really isn't a difficult task just open your bios on boot, go to where your on board or integrated devices are and find on board sound and disable.

Can someone suggest a compatible graphics card to connect this sound card to? Been searching everywhere but can find it...

Nvidia 650 ti boost or better.  Nothing lower!!!  I went with the 650 ti boost most I could come up with.  Wish I could afford more but if you are financially strapped you can shop around and find it for a decent price.  But I am glad that they finally came out with drivers and the card works great for what I want it to
