Does the power button on the AS4004T require you hold it down for a few seconds to shut off the device, or could you accidently bump it and cause a shutdown?

Yes, the button requires about a 5 second press to shut down the NAS. No, you could not accidently bump it to cause a shutdown. I highly recommend this NAS. It is very cool.
