Pros: Great parts! Everything about this configuration screams quality!
Cons: Motherboard - It is a great motherboard and runs all the components great, except that it can only handle 1333Mhz and not the full 1600Mhz the Kingston Blu Hyper X offer. I tried to tweak the Bios to overclock it to 1600Mhz, but the system fails to boot afterward. Anyone able to overclock the memory to 1600Mhz successfully with this MOBO? GIGABYTE GA-78LMT-USB3
Overall Review: Overall great pickup when it was on sale, though i still wish the MOBO could handle all the memory has to offer.
Pros: Very fast, haven't had a game yet that has lagged or anything on max settings, which is what I bought it for.
Cons: Windows 8 - Not a con of the PC, but I wish I could have chosen to have windows 7 installed on it, because Win8 should never have been released on a PC format. Also, the fan on the side of the PC runs, at what I think, is an abnormally high RPM when I'm playing very low CPU intensive games. For example if I have Pandora + League of Legends running, the fan will go into overdrive and just run like crazy. While the PC is only using 5% total RAM and 2% CPU according to task manager. If anyone has advice on how to tone the fan down, maybe a setting in Win8, I'd be happy. Not sure on who I'd even call for support on such a thing.
Pros: There are so many pros to this desktop. The 8core processor running at 4ghz. 16gb ram, and with a 660gtx to top it off? Good deal. Me personally I like intel but I never had an amd so I wanted to try the new fx series and I haven't had any problems yet! This desktop does everything I was looking for! I can record using fraps all games I play at a decent fps. I can play any game with great fps. Ports in the front come in handy but most modern pcs have it. I bought this comp to test out if I record gameplay to get back into editing. And it does everything that anyone needs. No need to spend anymore then this. If you are looking for a good gaming desktop I highly recommend this one.
Cons: Only thing I could say which really isn't a big deal wish it had more neon in it but like I said simple 10-20$ instal nothing huge. Also when rendering in aae and Vegas (movie programs) I was disappointed in the speed, but don't get me wrong it's still fast. But my expectations were high.
Overall Review: No really major cons I mean I personally don't like oc my desktops so I cannot say anything about overclocking my pc.
Pros: Can't beat the price! The components in this desktop are a steal for this price!
Cons: The motherboard is the weakest link! But it gets the job done and can always be easily upgraded later on. Also be prepared to have to replace something minor, like I did. Upon delivery I discovered that the HD had come loose. It's held in place with clips not screws on this case, and apparently FedEx took it to a soccer game and used it as a ball on the way to my home. The SATA2 cable connecting the HD to the mobo was broken. A simple fix. But someone with less tech knowledge may have thought they got a lemon. And it wasn't Newegg's fault, they packed this thing TIGHT! The mobo can only handle up to 1333 ram even though it comes with 1600. And lastly, the keyboard and mouse included are just barely good enough to be used as a paperweight, lol.
Pros: Everything about this PC screams high quality. 4.0GHz, 16 GB DDR3, 2TB HDD, GTX 660 Ti 2GB.
Cons: Windows 8 was a little tricky as a windows 8 first time user. But being a exceptional PC user for many years I quickly figured it out within the first thirty minutes!
Overall Review: I would not get any other PC. This one for its price is top notch.
Pros: Incredible upgrade from my past laptop, speed, ram, storage- its all here. I do little gaming, I purchased this CPU for VIDEO and AUDIO editing purposes. So i cant speak to graphics like some of these other reviews might. However, i am very pleased with the computer overall. Runs protools 11, adobe cs 6 everything, reason, fruity loops just fine.
Cons: the only con is the situation with the USB ports. It seems to me that they all work correctly, but i have enough USB's plugged in that i get a pop up warning telling me there are not enough USB resources available for all my equipment. This is pretty flippin annoying. I have (usb connections) :: mouse, keyboard, headset, seperate set of external speakers running through an audio interface (mbox 2 mini) and thats it. It wont allow me to have the external speakers, and the headset connected and toggle between the two. I have to unplug my headset, reboot and plug in my speakers and let it boot with only those plugged in to get them to work, and even then i have trouble. Mind you, im running some pretty serious speakers so im not sure if that's an issue. This may not affect you but it does with me. I havent even plugged in an external drive or external card reader, but im sure with all these other connections, both would fail.
Overall Review: aside from the lack of USB resources i love this computer. It is quite possibly one of the best deals on newegg here. PS- is this a motherboard issue? or if anyone is having similar issues and found a fix or something email me : mpawlick @ gmail ((no spaces and .com)) thanks
Pros: Fast, fun, problem-free. It has crashed a whopping 1 time since rescue from its styrofoam and cardboard shipping box. This PC has so far been an awesome machine for gaming on maximum settings while recording and/or streaming. Even with just 1 hard drive it is very quick with everything. The best part about this product is the complete lack of bloatware. Upon opening and plugging in, you will find windows 8 in its raw form. There are no ads, no trial-ware, no 90-day starter editions, no come-on game packs, nothing of the sort. It is clean, functional, and very friendly. The price is perfect for what you get. Would buy again!
Cons: The video card is only 2gb when there are much larger sizes on the market. There is only one hard drive. I cannot think of any other con for this PC. Despite these issues, I have had no setback at all with the video card, every game runs on max settings and I routinely record and stream games without any problems. The lack of a 2nd hard drive causes slowdown when doing lots of tasks that are read/write intensive like video editing in the background while recording a game, but other than that, no real cons.
Overall Review: It's not cheap, it's not expensive, and the value you get is more toward the upper class of the PC market, so it feels like a real bargain. Buy a 2nd hard drive if you do plenty of video editing or other read/write intensive activities.
Pros: I bought this computer with the future in mind. A couple upgrades here and there and it ought to last longer than most as we roll along the new hardware cycle. I'm really happy with it. No lag during the games I play and fast load times on software and such. Windows 8 is cool despite everyone seeming to hate it. I'm very satisfied with this purchase. Plus, did you see? 8 cores!!! :P
Cons: I haven't come across any yet, but again, I don't have vast stores of tech knowledge and just bought this thing with data and lightweight gaming (for as long as possible) in mind.
Overall Review: I have a fish named King Kong that looks a lot like Admiral Ackbar. :)
