Dunno. Do you have a mixed system? You could try it and if not just replace the video card in the VGA system with a card with DVI out, you can get those cheap.

So, for this unit, does a standard USB A/B cable control both the mouse and keyboard to the individual machines? Or is there a special cable that is needed?

Yes, 1 standard USB A/B cable per PC is all that is needed. The console keyboard and mouse plug directly into the switcher.
