Does this version have the backlit dimmer like the 5 color model does?

In basic terms NO . . .

BUT the Different Colors are not ALL the Same Brightness so you Do Get different Levels of Illumination . . . There is no Over-All Intensity Control . . .

Last Note on Intensity . . . One of the Select-able Color States is OFF which is Most Definately Dimmer ( lol )

I like my AZIO PRISM Keyboard a Lot - It's Very Sleek & Techie Looking & Feeling.

It says Windows requirement... Is there anything that would prevent this keyboard from working on a Linux build?

I wouldn't think so. I've used it on fresh Windows installs, from XP to 10. As far as I can tell there are no specialty drivers loaded for it, just generic keyboard drivers. The back light options are cycled through a key that replaced the Scroll Lock, which leads me to surmize that the back light coding is all internal to the keyboard...which I just confirmed by plugging it into a USB charger completely lacking any OS. The memory for the last color selection was even preserved.

Hi -- is the backlight adjustable for brightness ??? This keyboard works with windows 8.1 ??? Any problems with installed malware on this keyboard??? Thank you.

There is No Dedicated DIMMER on the Lights for the Keyboard although the Levels Seems GOOD and Not Glaringly Bright . . . Colors CYCLE sequentially with ONE of the Colors being BLACK or OFF. Some of the Colors are Slightly DIFFERENT in Intensity that's as Close as it Gets.
Works fine with ALL Windows Versions including 8.1.
Uses Standard Windows Keyboard Drivers that Come with Windows, there is NO Additional Software Needed or Installed . . . So Malware is not an issue . . . Good Value for a Lighted Keyboard.

Question 4

Does the light stay continuously on, or will it go out when the computer goes to sleep?

I use it with a desktop PC, and it stays on continually, even when the hard drives spin down and the display goes to sleep. You can manually turn off the glow if you like at anytime.

If you're referring to a laptop, however, it would likely turn off in sleep mode. Newer laptops sometimes feature one or more USB inputs with pass-through power for charging electronic devices while the laptop is shut down.

Can you (or does it look like you can) rearrange the keys? Also, are the keys one one row the same size & shape as the next? i type with dvorak format, and was wondering if this would be compatible.

I had one of the keys off to clean after it started to stick.  I went back on fairly easily.  All the character keys are the same size.

It will,  but please be aware of this keyboard IT DOES NOT HAVE SCROLL LOCK button. if you need to use this button to switch for dual computers in one monitor you can't

NOT Likely . . . It may have SOME workablility BUT Doesn't have MAC Specific Keys . . . It was DESIGNED for the Windows OS . . .

Just a standard Windows keyboard, no volume controls or conections fo an optical drive.

There's a button with a light bulb on it on the keyboard. Just tap it to advance through the colors

Can you program a pattern into the lights? So can you make the color change from blue to red and back automatically?

No, unfortunately you cannot. Pressing the 'lightbulb' icon (2keys right of f12) will advance the light through the PRESET progression of colors.
