The 8-pin mini-DIN connector is most commonly known as the connector used for the RS-422 serial connections on older Apple Macintosh computers. However, the connector is also used on a wide variety of devices, including the Sony VISCA camera, Epson PX-4 and PX-8 printers, various Sun serial and audio connections, Roland MIDI ports, and many others.
