Since the outlets swivel, does this mean power adapters (bricks) can be inserted side-by-side?

The nice option you have with the swivel ports is you can individually select a port to swivel or not. Lets say you have a fairly large/wide sized adapter (brick); most likely you will have brick set to swivel to the side and still be able to use another brick for the adjacent port (front facing).

Is That A Red Lighted On Off Switch I See?

Yes, the On-Off switch is the large round switch in the middle, but it is orange in color.  There are also two smaller lights (not switches), one on each side of the on-off switch. that indicate status of grounded and protected.

What are the dimensions of the surge protector? I am getting a couple, and will be putting them in a case.

The overall length is 11.5 inches.  However you will need to allow at least one inch for the power cord at one end. If you are going to use the coax connectors at the other end you should allow an inch or more for that. So the overall length inside an enclosure should be at least 13.5 inches as a minimum.

the width is 4.75 inches without any plugs attached. again I would allow a minimum of 5 inches if the plugs are coming out the top. If you are going to take advantage of the rotating plugs and have some of the plugs come out the side then you will have to allow for that.

The unit is durable and well built.  I can't see any reason why it wouldn't work well in a garage.

Are a few of the outlets designated as "Always On" so I can turn off some items by turning off the surge protector, but leave my telephone and a couple other items "Always On"?

I always have the surge protector turned on, I am fairly certain that the on/off switch works for ALL outlets.  Also pretty sure that the only part no controlled by the on/off switch is the coax and RJ 45

does anyone know if you can stack surge protection because I'm pretty sure my power supply has surge protection but Idk?

Running in series should be fine.  Many of the surge suppressors use a cluster of MOVs (varistors).  These MOVs are just like fuses, they progessively burn out when hit with power spikes.  After too many hits or after a few years your protection may be gone.

does this absorb more power than the standard power strip?

No, it's the same as other power strips, but the movable receptacles on the sides make it extremely versatile.  You may find yourself putting more devices on this strip.  You have to be sure the electrical circuits in the building can handle the load.
