Printed instructions for mounting on wall outlet?

I don't recall whether we had printed instructions, but it was pretty self-explanatory with standard U.S. outlet covers.  We removed the center screw from the existing outlet cover/faceplate, but left the existing faceplate where it was.  Then we put the surge protector on top of the existing faceplate and put the integrated screw (that appears in the main product photo) through the empty screw hole in the faceplate.

Question 2

I wanted to use this on a split switched receptacle (one plug switched and one always on).  Will this still work?  Will some of the plugs be switched?

The unit only plugs into the top outlet of the receptacle, so either they will all be switched or none. Its a 3-pronged plug and there is a screw to secure it in place, so you can't reverse it to plug into the lower outlet.

What are the dimensions of this item?

Its 4.1w x 5.2h x 1.2d.  It is designed to be SCREWED into the same hole that the cover plate over a standar duplex wall outlet, the hole between the two outlets.  It covers completely BOTH outlets, and plugs into just one of them, the top one usually.  If it is not mounted this way--screwed in, it often becomes unstable and unplugs without warning.

is this for iphones?

No, but there are 2 usb power connectors on the top of this outlet. You can use them to power any usb device (like an Iphone).

energy absorption?

this unit is cheaper for a reason VS larger units that have huge cord to wall.  I use this solely for lights in house to prevent house fires.

Question 6

If the surge protector indicates it is not grounded will it still work?

I cannot answer from personal experience, but a quick check from the web…

“if the ground light is not on, that would indicate that either there is no ground to that receptacle, or the ground wire has not been connected or is loose. Either way, the surge device at that receptacle will be of little service. There is nowhere for the device to shunt the surge energy.”
