I had a 12 mbs cable modem and just went to a 50 mbs modem. I had the cable company come and change everything. I can go to PC Pitstop, run their utility and can still only get 12 mbs thru my wireless Belkin N450 N Router. I can however connect with a hard cable from the back of the Cable Modem and get 51.2 mbs. What am I doing wrong? Thank you, Jay

I had the same issue. Go in settings and turn off IntelliSense (QoS) you will get the speed then JS

Can this be used to replace the box rented from Time Warner?

No, but it will save you the wireless fee they charge.
