Ive had the monitor for a few months now, and i would have to say that it is a great monitor, its that monitor that is right in between a va and a isp, fast response time for gaming but not as fast as a va, but has awesome colors but not as good as isp if you know what i mean. I have not been disappointed in this product since i got it. Hope this helps

I think for the price the monitor would be good for gaming. BenQ has developed a new method of controlling brightness that doesn't use PWM, and so doesn't flicker. This should, in theory, result in less eye-strain.

It's not a great resolution for such a large screen, but at the current price it's not a cause for fair complaint.

It has DVI, HDMI and VGA connections, and there are built-in speakers and a headphone jack, too. The speakers aren't spectacular, but it's good to have a headphone jack so you can use separate PC speakers or headphones instead.

There's no pivot and height adjustment, just tilt. The anti-glare finish acts just as described.

What is the refresh rate of this monitor? (60Hz, 80Hz, etc)

Mine is running at 60 refresh at default. Under properties however its listed as 75 refresh.

I can't seem to find the ACTUAL depth (thickness front to back) of this monitor without the stand. I want to hang it on a wall and I need to know just how thick it is WITHOUT the stand. It's listed as 7.52", but that can't possibly be right. It looks much slimmer than that. Does anyone know the REAL depth? Please advise. Thanks!

The bezel is about 5/8" thick.   However, there is a bulge on the back that adds almost 2" to the total depth.  You could cut a box into the wall to get a picture frame effect but the switches are actually accessed from the back so you'd need to control power some other way.  Likely not the best monitor for mounting very close to a wall.

Is this an IPS monitor?

It's a VA panel, with the same 178/178 viewing angles as IPS.  It's also 8-bit, and has pretty fast response for a VA.  Nowadays most IPS panels you see in this price category are 6bit panels, and have that IPS glow.  This panel imo is better than any value IPS panel I've seen and is second only to a 1000+ dollar professional grade NEC IPS monitor I have.

What would you say is about the best distance to view this 27" screen from? I am afraid of doing too much viewing on a large screen from too close up, for fear of screwing my eyes up. Any thoughts?

I've used one of these daily, 8 to 10 hours...since July 25, 2014. Mine is 24 to 20 inches away from my face and slightly to the right. I have it paired with a 24 inch BenQ, which is the same distance, sitting adjacent to this unit. Both are excellent monitors and my eye strain from the flicker-free, has diminished since I began using them both. Had previously used a pair of Asus 23 inch units. The speakers are adequate, but I also utilize headphones.

Does it come with a DVI-I to DVI-I Cable or do you have to purchase one separately?

No it does not come with a DVI-I/D cable or connector. The photograph is correct, displaying what comes with the purchase.

But the monitor itself has been fantastic, even though its resolution is 'only' 1920 x 1080, there's 27 inches of real 4ms goodness and games & blue ray movies both look superb with the DVI-I

Can the speakers be disabled easily?

I would assume one could just turn down the volume... or not plug up the audio cable to the monitor if you want it disabled...

How wide is the bezel on the left/right sides?   I'm trying to figure out if these would be good for a 3 monitor set up.
