Question 1

Does this require an internet connection to be played. Will I be able to play it offline?

I bought this for myself. It does come with a pretty decent size install off of the  dvd newegg sends you in the mail, but I think patches/updates and maybe the dlc(dawngaurd, hearthfire, dragonborn) download through Steam. So, it does require an internet connection when you first install the game to activate it on Steam and get updates/dlc. After you have it installed, you don't need to be connected to internet anymore. I installed this on a laptop and don't have internet at home, so I used free wifi at a local store to activate it and install anything included in the purchase that may not have already been on the dvd(patches, dlc). I play at home(fan in refurbed laptop failed, so I can only game when it is sitting on top of a fairly large fan blowing upward. I connect laptop to keyboard, mouse, crt and use headphones instead of speakers in my appartment). perhaps too much info, but that's how I do it.

Is this STEAM DRM codes ? or retail DVD ?

The original game is installed off a dvd-rom, the additional dlc (dragonborn, hearthfire, and dawnguard) are steam code provided on insert in case.

Don't have the box handy,  but my laptop with amd a8(1.9-2.8ghz with 2 modules aka 4 integer/2 floating point units and   256 shaders in vliw4 with 8 rops  at 500-685 mhz) plays on mostly high / ultra( save for fxaa instead of msaa  and filtering lowered to 8 x) at 1024 x768 with decent frames per second. Also got 2x4GB sticks ddr3 1600 in dual channel (25.6 GB/ s) and a 2.5 inch 750 GB 7200 rpm hard drive. I think my graphics can only use 512 MB  of the ram,  and level load times with the hard drive are ok if not great.  Should have just said a8 4500m with g7640 graphics.  Your gameplay might be a bit smoother with a faster cpu( or choppier with a slower one), but a big factor in performance may be your graphics( depending on what you have, what combo of resolution  /details you are shooting for,  and how low and frame rate is tolerable  to you). I hope this was somewhat helpful and not just a bunch of confusing techno babble.

Will this run on Windows 8?

I'm running it on the 8.1 now and it runs just fine. If you do not know already, you will need to download steam and create a steam account to run it. Steam is free and its quite nice to have if you are a computer gamer. Plus it has thousands of mods you can add on.

Question 5

I'm not in US. Can I buy this game, send to my friend in us, ask him to give me a steam code in the box and use this code to activate in my Steam account?
