Lol no. You also need ram and a cpu.. the cheapest 1151 will work and you can run it with  just one stick of 4gb ram. And GPU's lots of GPU's ;-) good luck

The specs say it has 1 dimm slot but picture shows 2. Is this a typo or is the photograph the wrong one? any body out there have one of these.

It is a typo as there is definitely two DIMM slots. I have several of these boards and can confirm this is the case.

Anyone using this for mining yet?

Yes, its a good mining mobo! I am dual mining ETH/Pascal and hdd mining Burstcoin with 20TB of hdd. Biostar was manufacturing Mobo's decades before Asrock was thought of.
The MIA mobo's were more advanced than Asus offerings in early 2000, and Biostar has always been pretty good about releasing decent firmware with the new mobo's, unlike Asus where you can wait up to a year to get all the bells and whistles functioning properly.

new builder here, can this motherboard be used for other things that are not mining? i'm new to the whole pc scene.

I use this mobo and I don't mine. It does the job for casual use and gaming. However, the CPU socket type is rather dated at this point and it is difficult to find replacements. If you're building a new PC from scratch, I would not recommend this mobo. It's really only useful (imo) for keeping aged systems going.

Question 5

The specs says 'Max. Supports up to 16GB Memory'. Is it the combined max memory for two slots? or each slot can have upto 16GB of memory?
