There is a DDR3 that uses a lower voltage, could that be what you are talking about. It could be a typing error.

Is this mb compatible with my existing hard drive - WDC WD2000JS-60NCB1 ?

As far as your HD is concerned ... I don't know however, it should be if it is SATA there is no IDE ribbon slots available. As of right now my PC has no DVD player as it requires the ribbon cable.

I am running on Windows Vista ... which it isn't really all that compatible there are a few drivers missing. I need to get a new HD myself and get windows 7. Now for Windows 10 I cannot say as it only goes up to Windows 8.1 so it would be a gamble.

Also the motherboard doesn't seem to support fan control and my PC fan is constantly running at high speed (probably because there is no CPU fan) which is quite loud and obnoxious at times. I only recommend this upgrade if you are using only temporary like I plan to. My goal is to get a much faster CPU and motherboard as this isn't much faster than my 1.8 duo core CPU (probably because of Vista but not too sure yet).

There is no fan needed, I use this pretty heavily and there was no significant heat build up round the cpu area.it is the style of some of the integrated boards.

Would like to upgrade an older Dell.Will it support windows xp?

Yes, you can absolutely use this with Windows XP. Some optional software included with the motherboard may not work, but none of it is required and none of it will speed up your computer.

How can I find out the power supply requirements of this motherboard ?   I am replacing a micro ATX motherboard with this one so I have a power supply already.   But I cannot find power supply requirements for this motherboard anywhere, not even on the Biostar web site.   Does it not matter ?

The Intel Celeron J1900 processor has a very low power rating, it's typical power consumption is 8.13 Watts. You can get away with a 90 watt Power Supply to support the entire system. I'm sure that your old system has at least a 250 watt power supply which is more than enough power. Good luck with your project.

Question 6

Other boards with this SoC don't have the 4-pin CPU power connector. Does the 4-pin connector *need* to be plugged in for the board to work?

This motherboard will not post without the 4 pin connected. I just shut mine down and unplugged it then tried to power up - no go.
