Based on what i understood, your 2 years starts at install. if you delay your install past recent version, 2014, you may or may not get updates, but you still can use this versions fully. I hope this helps.

I would recommend linking across a network connection to a machine that does have a CD drive.   There are ways to convert installs to a jump drive.  Those might work for you but would likely be way more effort than establishing another computer as a network location and sharing it's resources.

Will this version automatically update to the 2015 version??

While Bitdefender is the only one that can answer with complete certainty, I have two thoughts.

First, the program is ALWAYS updating. making it a little bit of a resource hog. If you are running a modern quad-core or better, no issue. If, on the other hand, you're using a dual-core laptop that's a few years old, you'll notice. So the more resources you have, the less you notice. On this matter, I think Norton Internet Sec is better.

But to speak to your question, the program itself (not definitions) updates about once a month.  So after a year of updates, is there much difference between a '14 and a '15 version? I doubt it. You might have noticed that some of the security suite producers are moving away from dating their programs. They say that they are doing it so the customer always has the most current version. While that is true (after you are done downloading and installing two hours worth of updates), it also saves them a ton of money to not eat the unsold old versions or having to rebate the price down to nothing.

So Bitdefender is a solid program. Use Norton IS if resources are a factor. Hope this helps you.

I really don't know, it was product of the year for 2013 and i bought this in December of that year for 2014, but that was six months ago and things change so fast these days.

I'm in the US, but spend time in the UK, where I have 2 additional PC's.  Are there any regional restrictions for activation with Bitdefender?  After using Kaspersky for many years, they have all of a sudden stopped me using a license code bought in the US on the UK system, so I can no longer split the 3 PC pack (I put this down to gouging customers on price).  There are other features that Kaspersky are cutting corners on now as well, such as not piggybacking license renewals, to give you the full term of the license you've paid for. Kaspersky has also take out the ability to do a custom install, so you can no longer install to any other location than the default C drive.  Could I do a custom install with Bitdefender?  Thanks to all who can answer my questions.

Well I'm sorry to say that I never have use it out side of the US but I have used it for 4 years now and have put it on my kid, granddaughter too. And have got another one for the next two years love it . They up date fast and doesn't slow mine system down like others I used in the past never have got any virus with it. It also gives you a renewal price before expiration date . And I have used their Android Version to. Seem to me if you would have the drives connected when installing it would . But I do know that it scanners the drive when you connect to your main computer that you have installed on.Try copying it too the other like copying a game or program,maybe never tried a.But I do trust in the program, also I use Malware too.

Probably.  You can try, and if it doesn't work, what have you lost?
For what it's worth, I tried Bitdefender on my laptop.  It was so over protective I had to remove it;  I like to monitor my own computer.  If you are a casual user, you might like its overreaching.

Value edition comes with 2Year but regular standard edition is 1Year. Value edition is cheaper than 2x standard edition.
No other differences between them.
