Does this contain an installation disc ?

Yes it comes with a disk which is optional for installation. The important part is the product key which also comes with the package. The installations (up to 3 PCs) are managed via bitdefender central. You can create a new account there and use the key or add it to an existing account.

I'm looking for one that can help protect kids while surfing the web can this do it?

Yes, with both Parental Controls & the ability to filter/block certain websites directly. You may consider enabling the browser plug-in/add-on but that is up to you. If you go to the Bitdefender website, at the top of the page, under Home click "Bitdefender Internet Security" & you will see (in blue text) "See all features." Click that to see a comprehensive view of the features that the Internet Security version includes.

On the Internet Security page, they also have the "User Guide" (again in blue text) which should tell you how to enable those features.
