Im just getting into building my own computer and was looking at putting my own LED's inside my case. My question is where does it get plugged into for its power the motherboard? or the power supply? thanks for your help

Hi,

This hooks up through the power supply, it uses a molex connector (a quick google image search will show this connection to you).

Pros:
Flexible
Bright
Easy to install
Can be put into your system anywhere (power supply cable length permitting)

Cons:
The tape that comes with the light (it's on the back of the LED Strip) seemed to lose its stickiness quickly. Though a quick trip to the store to buy double sided velcro saved the day.

I tried numerous led strips, cathodes, and other lighting products to light up my case before purchasing this one. Either they weren't bright enough or wouldn't fit in a space in my computer and were hidden at the same time. This one however does give you quite a bit of freedom as you can put it anywhere in your case, route the cables, hide the cables, and it gives off plenty of light to give you that glow you would expect from lighting products.

Does this require any soldering?

No. It comes with a sticky back. I did find that it wasn't quite stong enough to hold the lights that I places on top in place. So I used some crazy glue. They are great lights.
