Good laptop, but don't buy it outside the U.S/Canda8/28/2019 1:33:54 AM
Pros: Runs everything you throw at it at max settings easy.
Never overheated after hours on turbo at high stress.
Really portable and light weight great for traveling.
G-sync panel is smooth at 144hz no tearing and great colour.
Cons: Cooling fans can get loud while overclocked when not using a sound proof headset
My battery did died just after 2 months but before that barely lasted a full movie aka 2 hours before dying (could just be the faulty battery I had this may vary)
Acer warranty doesn't work in other countries even though I ordered in the UAE, Acer UAE, UK and even international warranty all got declined said I had to get it fixed by Acer U.S which is pretty far away...
Overall Review: If you live in the U.S/Canda or visit frequently and you want a light weight with great performance laptop then buy this, just don't buy it online abroad it's not worth the hassle if it has a fault.
Cons: Had to reset the computer 5 times in the 4 days i had it
Overall Review: I had this laptop for 4 days and was playing Assassin's creed when the screen just gave out on me. Don't get this laptop its overpriced and too fancy. I had a real hard time dual booting Linux on it

Great laptop, completely changed my opinion of acer5/9/2019 9:25:33 PM
Pros: -2080 max-Q under $3k
-its thin & light
-1 open ssd slot for upgrades
-thunderbolt
-great screen
-aluminum frame
-2.5g ethernet
-affordable... ish... ish?
Cons: -like every laptop that is of a thin & light design it can get hot while gaming, I knew this coming in and it has dual fans on the gpu to help with this.
-few ports.. for a work/play laptop i would've preferred to not have had to've bought a hub
-probably going to be outdated in a few months.. i've already read about an i9 version soming soon
Overall Review: I bought this laptop as an upgrade to my old msi gaming laptop and having the portability of 4lbs vs 6 1/2 and the MUCH smaller power brick it is much easier to lug this around and it has the power to do everything i need.
I added a 2tb m.2 to the laptop as thats the only option for an upgrade you are going to get with this, but considering the "better" version is just a 1tb with 32gb ram, this is a better alternative.
Lastly as somone thats worked on computers for years, ive always hated acer as they're always a big pain to fix. This laptop is definitely designed to be a "flagship" as it has all the add-ons that make it desirable. The motherboard is installed upside down but its not as hard to remove as many of their older laptops but i would've preferred to have been able to just open the bottom and access the ports form there.
Pros: -Extremely powerful!
-G-Sync with 144 Mhz IPS screen!
-All kinds of ports!
-Very light!
-Looks premium since it's case is made of aluminium!(except bezels!)
-Optimus*
-Battery life with Optimus*
Cons: -Under load it gets loud and hot!
-Hard to upgrade!
-Bloatware!!!
-Battery life without Optimus
Overall Review: I use it for designing mostly with programs like 3dMax, Revit, Photoshop etc. It's performance rocks but it won't replace a desktop! If you travel a lot or work on outdoors (with a electric plug of course since it's battery will hold for 3 hours at max) this will be a great choice you won't regret! I had a problem with customs and newegg was extremely helpful with my problem so I would like to thank newegg especially!
*Update: It seems this laptop also have Optimus! You can enable it in bios settings! This can double the battery time! But to use it you have to disable G-Sync! I personally won't disable it but it's nice to have the option to do it!
