Question 1

Does this case have a place for an optical drive?  It says there is a 5.25 inch bay, but I don't see it in any of the pictures.

Yes it does. I just completed a build for a customer, for an IP camera DVR and it does have a place for an optical drive.

The only thing to consider is that if you're going to be adding more than 2 drives, the large fan only blows air towards the middle of the hard drive cage and it might not be enough air flow.

There are other cases that have dual fans on the hard drive section.   If not using more than 2 or 3 drives then you're ok.

Question 2

Will this have enough room for a water cooling unit such as the Corsair H75?

This case is molded very tight in the netherregions of the VGA ports, watch out for the ARC suitcaseDouble case.

Question 3

Is there a recommend rail kit? ARK website indicates they do make rails for this, however its not sold by newegg or any other online retailer.

Any standard rack rails will work spaced for the 19 inch rack standard.

It says 9 internal drive bays, can you provide some better pictures?

Look at pic no. 8. The rack  in the right front can hold 7 3.5" drives. There is an additional 2 slots in the little rack that hangs in the middle of the picture, above where the motherboard goes.

The left bay can hold what is listed as "external bays". There's room for 3 5.25" and 1 3.5" drive.
