Would this memory card be compatible? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820233264 (CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Laptop Memory Model CMSX8GX3M1A1600C10) I would like this laptop, but it needs a bit more memory IMO. I would like to upgrade it upon arrival... but not sure if that is possible.

considering this computer is upgradable up to 8GB and it already has 4GB, buying an 8GB memory stick is not what you need. You need a 4GB since is the maximum that the system board reads.

Standard Memory 4 GB  
Maximum Memory 8 GB

Most laptops don't read more than 8GB. Gaming ones take up to 16GB.

I don't want windows 8 so if I purchase this being as advertised win 7 pro upgradeable to win8pro am I good to go. Is windows 7 already installed on it.What do they mean by upgradeable to win8pro?

You will be good to go. Mine has the win 7 pro, (already installed) and it comes with a disc  if you wish to install windows 8.
I don't know alot about computers, and have had my PC at home, so I researched the lap tops, and this is the one I chose, and I am very happy with it! You will not go wrong if you purchase this ASUS brand laptop.

The 4GB listed is built on the motherboard (not removeable). There is one empty slot available for 204-pin SODIMM. I installed a 4GB that I had and it worked, however I've heard you can actually install more than the 4G listed.

I purchased an 8 GB stick and it works fine.  Apparently it quits using the onboard RAM when a separate stick is inserted.

This is a 64Bit OS! I upgraded the ram as soon as it arrived to 8GB
I would like mention that the 4GB it comes with is embedded. It cannot be removed and only has one slot to add memory!

Just got it the other day. The release button on the DVD drive was pushed in at an angle, and the drive was in the 'eject' position when I took it out of the box.  Performed my own repair on that issue and it works fine now. After xferring several large files, the PC went into a huge Windows update - 150 updates when I went to turn it off for bed.  Left it and went to bed. Woke up the next morning and the PC screen was dark, but looked to be in the hibernate condition.  Woke it up and left it with the circle mouse pointer spinning - stuck at 127.  Left it in that condition for 4 hours - no change. Finally pressed the 'on' button to turn it off as I had set it up to do. Restarted and that is where the issues started.  Long to short, I had to reset to factory condition since that was the latest setting I had.  Back to square one with it, but was happy that I was able to reset it. Note, no Win 7 recovery disk in box - only a Win8 upgrade. 
As for the PC, it's a PC, has what I need and will do what I need it to do. Not happy with delivery - free yes, but over a week, and still waiting for the 1 TB external HD to be delivered - almost 2 weeks now, 1 via UPS (PC) and the other with Fedex (HD).
I went with ASUS because they make most or all of the parts that go into the PC and that tells me that compatibility should be solid. 
Only problems are with Windows and delivery.
