I need to connect my laptop to my TV. We have a wireless network at home.  How do I know if this is the right cable?  Sorry for my ignorance. I have no teenagers at home.

This is likely not the cable you are looking for. Make sure your laptop and TV have "HDMI" connection.  If yes, buy a HDMI cable. Don't buy expensive one.  If no, come back again.  Continue on the yes case. Your laptop may recognize the TV after connecting them and automatically guide you What to do. If not look for an mark with monitor shape around the top of keyboard with F1~F12 letters.  It would activate the external monitor mode. Or not. Good luck.

The best way to confirm specs is actually by checking the manufacturer's website (that's where we get them). Click on the Specifications tab on the item page, and look in the Quick Info box on the bottom of the page.
