Dose the monitor have the capability to extend up and down?

No, the monitor is on a fixed stand. There is no vertical movement allowed. Monitor can tilt up & down, but no other vertical adjustment is available.

Is this monitor compatible with Windows 7 Pro? Everything online I'm seeing only mentions Windows 8 and later.

They only advertise that for people who are scared their stuff won't work with a new system or whatever.  All you have to worry about are whether it has the right inputs for what you need.

Is this regular wide screen (16x9) or super wide format (21x9?)

This is a widescreen resolution. The aspect ratio is 16:9. 1920x1080

I see the product dimensions say it is 19" high, but (stupid question) does that include the screen? I'm going to be using this monitor in a cabinet whose doors close when not in use and need to ensure it fits!

Yes I just measured mine at it is right at 19" from the bottom of the base to the top of the screen. the base height is not adjustable so it will always be that tall.

does it come with sound? 'In another way, should I buy another voice box to play sound?

The screen does not have any built-in speakers - it's purely a screen. A really AWESOME screen, but just a screen.

Question 9

Does this model have easy input switching?  For example, if my desktop is plugged into the DVI port and I plug my laptop into the VGA port, would I be able to swap between the two without having to mess with unplugging cable, or powering down etc. ?

This model has very easy input switching when it comes to the controls. It has six pressure switches on the back right of the panel that you click to indicate what choices you want to confirm or navigate through the menu. The menu is easy to read and very straightforward.

As for swapping between laptop and desktop, I'm not sure how that would function because I haven't tried it yet. The monitor only comes with the VGA D-Sub cable but I did change the input and then connected via HDMI and the picture is beautiful.

Is there a webcam?
