Is this cable compatible with my Nexus 5x?

It will.  I have a Nexus 6p, but it has the same charging port as the 5X.   I bought this after being in a bind where I needed to charge my phone, but couldn't.  Works brilliantly.

how is the quality ? does it still charge the nexus 6p fast?

I use it to charge a Nexus 5X, and, while I haven't quantitatively measured it, it seems to be just as fast as the cable included with the phone. The speed of charging should primarily depend on the amount of amps the AC adapter allows. The more amps, the more energy per second.
