Hi, does this work on my Asus external DVD drive, item# 27-135-315? Thanks.

Would probably work if it's using the older mini usb. Most DVD players use the newer micro usb(same cable as most phones chare on). However this cable is intended for older devices that require more power such as older compact external harddrives that need to draw amperage from two usb ports.
