Does It Have A Connection To Where You Can Hook It Up To A CPU?

Accepted Answer

There are two inputs on the SP2500 that come from the source. First is a 3.5mm stereo jack that comes from the onboard audio of the motherboard. Secondly, there is a pair of RCA jacks that my be used from an audio source, such as an audio receiver or in my case, an Asus Xonar STX sound card.

About how long are the satellite, and remote cords on this?

The remote connects to the sub in what looks like a VGA cable, about 6 ft long. It's permanently attached to the remote.

The satellites connect using 4 wire plugs (same head type as a cpu power plug) that are about 8-10 feet long. These unplug from both the satellites and the sub.

Highly recommended system. Replaced a broken klipsch 2.1, could not possibly be happier. Best powered speaker system I've ever used. Clear in both music and games at absurd volumes. Desktop remote is worth the price break over other 2.1 systems alone.

Will this work with windows 10?

Ive had these babies for a long time ever since windows 7, I upgraded to 10 a year ago. These will work with windows 10, but I somehow cannot upgrade the firmware on this due to lack of incompatibility, but on the other hand, they will work great with no problem, all you need is an audio jack that you can plug these speakers into and enjoy.

Question 4

Does this system support multiple inputs and can it switch between them? I'd like to be able to switch between my PC and home console.

Yep, switching inputs is very easy; you do it from the same controls used to set volume. There are two inputs on the base plus another on the control console. I have my computer and ps3 hooked up and it works like a charm.

I have a HP 2000 Notebook PC. It's a lap top. Will it work with this?????

The Corsair 2500 has a built-in amplifier.  So, if you plug in the cable to your headphone jack,  the speakers will work just fine.

Question 6

Is there a way to open/disassemble the speakers? I'm looking to change up the colors; specifically the blue.

To answer your question, yes they do open up with the 4 Allen screws on the front, however modding the speakers would most likely void any sort of warranty you would have like any other company's TOS warranty.

Question 7

Is anybody using this speaker system to play guitar as well as general media use on their PC?  I want a speaker system that I can use to enjoy gaming AND has a "monitor-like" quality for playing guitar through software amplifiers.  if I absolutely must get separate monitors, so be it, but I would think there is something out there that can handle both...  Yes, I am aware of the loss of audio quality and signal integrity by not using a monitor with TSR balanced inputs...  I'm just a hobbyist, so it's not critical.  Thanks for any help.

This set of speakers has been adopted by audiophiles currently as one of the best in PC speakers across the board.  I have heard a lot of these types of systems, and the bass extension and clarity,  open midrange and highs that lack the  "sizzle" so  common in the boom and buzz world of under $1000 speaker systems, as well as incredible soundstaging when set up right, belies their size or price range.

i have a tweaked tower i built with an ASUS STX II with upgraded opamps, a high end gaming motherboard with high grade capacitors, a Platinum level power supply, and other high end internal components, tweaked the operating system timers and other numerous tweaks such as high end RCA cable as a professional IT consultant and audiofile now have something i know competes as a "preamp" in all the parameters that you would spend thousands more in a high end audio "salon".  When fed to the SP's the sound is incredible for the price point and total investment in my build.   In order to reap the audible benefits, the speakers have to be of high quality and accuracy because you can make a bad speaker design sound good only to their limits.  These give you the best specs and sound for the money and respond to what you feed them with almost clinical accuracy.

These speakers are very robust and designed to take the game soundtracks and effects at ear splitting levels without distortion, but at the same time have a delicate resolving ability and soundstage at quiet volumes, that as an audiophile, easily outperforms ALL of the other PC speakers by a huge margin as a music system, not just blowing away aliens...lol.

Question 8

Is the built in sound card on my ASRock Z77 Extreme4  going to do this speaker system justice? Also, where is the optimal placement for the large sub in a desk setting? On the ground at your feet? My desk certainly has no room for that monster.

Discrete sound card will get you the best performance.  On-board audio chipsets tend to have feedback as it is hard for most board manufacturers to isolate the components.  The ground toward the rear of desk is optimal placement for the sub.

How do you connect this to a sound card or the left and right outputs of the motherboard?

It depends on what sort of connectors are available at your source.  On my ASUS STX II sound card, it has left and right RCA type jacks and using those is the optimal way for the best signal transfer.  On my motherboard, an MSI 990FXA Gaming, there is only a 3.5mm stereo line out which would go to the Aux In on the SP2500.  However, that cable would be thin and would not give you the best quality signal transfer.  In that case. get an adapter that is male to plug into your motherboard line out, BUT that has TWO separate female connectors for you to connect a high quality RCA set of cables to the RCA jacks on the back of the subwoofer. The  shorter the adapter cable length, the BETTER.

Question 10

Wondering what some audio card options would be with these speakers.  How hi-end does the card have to be?

The SP2500 system is designed for gaming audio and I would suggest looking at either the Asus Xonar series or the Creative SoundBlaster Z series soundcards.  Either series of soundcard will be far superior to the onboard audio from the motherboard.

if you game with headphones, the difference will be most apparent.
