Is there a way to de-activate the "Windows" Key? Some keyboards have a function to de-activate it so that you don't accidentally minimize while gaming

yes, there is a dedicated key on the key board that can be set to disable the windows key. This key can also be programmed to disable Alt + F4 and Alt + tab if you want. You can also make it any color you want. The keys on this key board are extremely customizable.

Will this ever be available in any other Cherry MX switch varieties other than red?

Yes! I saw them at PAX Prime last week and saw different switches. They are releasing brown and blue switches by the end of September 2014. They also have different models with RGB lightings, such as ten-keyless (Best Buy exclusive) and the ones with macro buttons on the left side (was that called K90?). Hope this helped!

This Keyboard is supposed to have a USB pass thru. I may be completely nuts, but where is it?

The RGB version actually does not have one. It's got 2 USB plugs to plug into the computer but no pass through.
The multiple plugs are used if you're plugging the keyboard into USB 2.0.

Whats the difference between this version and the new version?

This version of the k70 rgb red keyboard was released first.

The only difference is that this k70 rgb red has the corsair's original logo while the other version has their cheap gaming "tramp stamp" that was aired after they released this one. Many people are against this new gaming logo for corsair. If you prefer the original corsair logo, get this one.

NO! i just got mine in the mail and it does not come with one it has 2 usb headers but not usb pass-through!

Will this keyboard include the raised/textured WASD and 1-6 keys?

Actually don't think anyone here is answering his question. He's not asking about a programmable LED light for every key. He's asking about the WASD, 1-5 keys that you can remove and replace with ones that are angled, textured, and colored differently on the actual KEYCAP. The K70 comes with a key pull and those extra keys you can sub in.

I have not seen one photo, video, or even specification mentioning the new RGB keyboard will have this. Yes it is based on the K70 board. But that doesn't necessarily mean it will come with the option of those replacement keys.

Can anyone confirm that they will have these special "textured" keys?

Are that the ordinary red switches with the LED or a complitly new switch as well?

Based on what i read on how this keyboard was made. The LED's will be placed in a more secure place to ensure that they never die, and all the other perks such as customization of the color and pattern of the LED's.

Yes you will. This version was released before the new gaming logo was introduced so it has the original logo in all its glory
