Sturdy, fun to type on, stylish11/30/2018 6:05:42 PM
Pros: -even with it being soft tactile, the X50Q still has a rather satisfying click and feels great to type on
-durable frame, solid feeling keyboard
-LED's are extremely beautiful
-software is easy to use, has applets to add to the keyboard (weather, stocks, etc..)
-came with W,S,A,D keycaps and tool to remove them
-one applet can allow you to monitor CPU usage, which is nice
Cons: -price is expensive, but you truly do get what you pay for
-applets for the keyboard are a bit gimmicky, but cool nonetheless
Overall Review: I would definitely recommend this board to anyone looking for a durable gaming keyboard that adds a nice look to your overall setup. It was recommended to me by a long time friend that uses a Pro 4 Daskeyboard and truly I feel like this is the best board I have ever owned. If the developers continue adding nice applets for the keyboard then I could see that becoming a pretty amazing feature for this board as well. If you're looking for the loud click, then I would recommend looking into Blue switches, because these do not have that loud click, but still very satisfying. Over and above all, my favorite keyboard to date.
Pros: Absolutely NOTHING this KB can't do with open source apps...
great key response
open setup allowing cleaning, swapping, cooling
Cons: None so far after 90 daze of use
Overall Review: i prefer rainbow, my kids prefer clock cycles, wife prefers weather... your KB can do ALL of that and more.. awesome keyboard with good caps; not just 'gadgety'.. Open source API makes it customizable beyond belief!!!
Has a great amount of potential, a few issues hold it back10/1/2018 9:33:23 PM
Pros: - Exceptional feeling while typing, nice little tactile bump, quiet enough. By far my favorite switches I have ever used.
- Soft touch wrist rest feels better than my old Corsair K70 wrist rest
- Feels incredibly sturdy, actually quite heavy
- RGB backlighting is bright but now blinding when used in a dark environment
- Braided cable is a must nowadays for a premium keyboard
Cons: - Software is pretty janky, coming from Corsair's software which wasn't great to begin with, Das' software makes Corsair's feel actually intuitive and easy to use.
- Volume knob on mine adjusts volume in increments of 4, pretty odd to be honest. You can get it to adjust by 2, but adjusting by 2 is in between clicks and feels silly.
- If you ever lose internet and have to turn your computer on or restart it, the RGB lighting won't work. For whatever reason the lighting software is tied to their profiles via internet instead of being stored. Incredibly stupid.
- Space bar is by far the worst I have ever used, ever.
Overall Review: I have owned a few keyboards in the past few years. Gigabyte Avia Osmium, Cooler Master Quick Fire Pro, Corsair K70 and now the Das X50Q. The X50Q uses the same style of space bar lock as Corsair does with the two + male and female pieces. Well, on the K70 I never once had an issue with it, it always depressed and raised back up no problem. With the X50Q, the space bar has a tendency to get stuck on the right side which results in even shorter key presses while having no feeling of depression. On top of that, the female + lock, on the left side snapped off, which actually made the space bar feel a bit better if I operate the space bar on the left side.
Hopefully Das gets back to me and sends me a new space bar
I can't actually comment on smart features of the keyboard, this wasn't the reason I was buying it, I haven't used it.
