Can I use a separate mic with this headset?

I suppose so. You would need to mute the mic in the headphone, then use whatever other mic you have plugged in separately. If you're going to go to all that trouble, why not just get a different set of headphones? There are others that have 7.1 sound, good mics and might even be more comfy... something to think about...

Are these over the ear or on the ear headphones, also I'd like to say that you need to really burn in speakers for them to sound as they should, get yourself a XLO test and burn disc, and burn them in for several hours, that'll help but actually no speaker really comes into it's own until about 100hrs of use.?

They go around the ear so there is no pressure added and it doesn't smash you ear between the earphones and your head. I will add that if you have a small head, (like I do), there's no adjustment on them and without adding something (I wrapped bubble wrap) around them they slide down to your jaw. This can become very irritating. As for the rest of your post, I'm not sure if you were asking a question or telling me about the "burn in".

Dose this gaming headset work on gaming consoles as well?

It requires proprietary G.Skill's driver, so it is possible that it could work on Xbox (not 100% sure though), but on other platforms it is questionable - why don't you ask G.Skill folks directly?

Does it work if i put an usb to aux adapter? Say if i wanted to use this in a tablet or phone.
