Do I need low-profile memory for this?

No. You would only need it if you had a CPU cooler that hung over the memory slots. But you won't in this case because you'll need a very short cooler like a Noctua NH-L9I or Cryorig CR-C7A.

It should fit since it comes with a half height adapter. It's only supports Sata II though. It you wanted Sata III you would have to jump up to a Intel RMS25KB040 using pcie x8.

The case it very to work in since with the cover off you have access to both sides and the top. If you want to put a drive in the optical drive, good luck finding the part for it!

Also, if you are going with SAS, there is a different version for it. It can be found on a popular bidding website.

It's standard realtek and intel drivers you could load centos on this yes. I loaded freebsd.

What type of power connectors are on the included PSU? 24-pin or 20+4-pin ATX? (4-pin) ATX12V or (8-pin) EPS12V or (4+4-pin) EPS12V? PCI-E? Peripheral (Molex)?

The PS has 24-pin MB, 4+4-pin 12v, two 4-pin molex for backplane power, one SATA power, and one slim ODD SATA power. There is no 6-pin video power connector (the PS is only 265 watts).

Also worth noting: the pictured SAS breakout cable was not included with my case. It is only needed if your MB has the 4in1 SATA or SAS port. The case backplane has 4 SATA connectors.

What's the ID LED on the front of the case for?

It is for identifying the system. If your motherboard supports the feature, you can control the LED on/off using software. It is useful in the scenario where you have many computers and want to physically access a specific one. You turn the LED on with software, then look in your server room for the computer with the illuminated ID LED.

Do the input plugs from the caseload on the front of case ( Lan1, Lan2, HDD, I/O) plug into MB or backplane, if backplane where?

Yes your right, however if your MB doesn't support it, you can plug into hard dive activities on backplane. The lettering on the front of case will not corespond but HDD light attivity will look nice
