What power supplies are compatible with this?
Especially if we want to build a 'low-power' noiseless NAS server with it?

I used a Solid Gear 320 Watt Flex ATX Power Supply.  It fits under the drive bays in front and there is a cheater cable to take the 120 V power to the back panel.  I replaced the 3 drive cages with a single Kingwin 4 bay trayless cage that has a 120 cm fan.  I don't need a cd-rom.  Take a look at the iStar S-35-B4BK that Newegg sells.  I use my unit as a W7 backup for my home theater, my home PC, and my tablet.  Works great.  Go trayless on the cage.  Make sure to add a fan for the cage - gets too hot otherwise.

Question 2

Will an "extended" mini-itx motherboard fit in this case? like a 8.8" x 6.7"?

Accepted Answer

Definitely not.  A regular Mini ITX fits exactly in the case with little room to spare.  The extended mini itx has more slots on the bottom, adding the extra 2 inches.  In this computer case, the board goes on the bottom and it's just not wide enough.
