Pros: • Minimal blacklight bleed: even in a dark room (keep in mind this is influenced by the viewing angle as well, it gets much worse at a slight angle) • Nice picture preset • Clean design, easy menu navigation • Fits nicely on a smaller desk (only 27" deep) • No dead pixels on arrival • Very bright, have to keep my brightness around 40
Cons: • '1ms' GTG response is a marketing gimmick and is not usable (as seen from many reviews online) nevertheless it has one of the fastest response times among similar IPS panels (4-5ms). • HDR is not usable, it barely meets the standard as is. • Lacks USB-C connection • 1 year warranty (reason for 4-star review)
Overall Review: • It is an expensive monitor and it took me quite awhile to get used to 27" 1440p panel (coming from a 24" Acer GN246HL) however at the end of the day gaming on this monitor is fantastic. Make sure you have a beefy gpu to fully utilize its capability (i.e. something better than a 1060 6GB).
Pros: What can I say other than this monitor is great. The picture is vivid with colors that distinctively pop out due to the IPS panel. The 144Hz and 2k screen makes everything seem more detailed and smooth. The monitors factory calibration was phenomenal and I did not have to fiddle with the RGB, or brightness and contrast, levels whatsoever; unlike past monitors I've owned where it took days of fiddling with these values to get a decent picture. Moreover, after owning it for two weeks I don't see any issues with it whatsoever. There isn't any dead pixels, bothersome backlight bleed, or any other jarring issues. This was my main worry as I've had to return multiple monitors I bought from OTHER POPULAR AND WIDELY USED ONLINE VENDORS, ASUS and Samsung monitors specifically, after various problems turned up only after owning them for a couple of weeks.
Cons: There is noticeable IPS glow. If you've never owned an IPS monitor before you may find it extremely annoying, especially on solid black or in a dark room, however the glow isn't that bad. I've owned other IPS panels before with significantly worse, and more distracting, IPS glow then this monitor. It's only really noticeable on black scenes in a dark room and even then it is not terribly distracting. You can mitigate the glow by making sure you're in a well-lit room, or having nice ambient lighting around your desk. Another issue is that the monitor is a bit pricey, especially when compared to the ASUS VG27AQ, and it's constantly in short-supply (from my experience anyway). That being said after owning the VG27AQ for a short-while, I can say with some certainty that the LG is the superior product; primarily because of the reduced IPS glow, perfect calibration, and lack of manufacturing flaws.
Overall Review: In short, I definitely recommend this product if you're in the market for a solid IPS paneled monitor.
Pros: - Everything people say it is. Fast, smooth, and great colors. - OSD is easy to get around and doesn't look too bad either. - Handles console refresh rates perfectly at "Normal" overdrive. (perhaps set to "sRGB" color mode though, really blows out the reds on ps4)
Cons: Quite unfortunately, it developed a dead pixel three days after arriving. Given the setup went perfectly and there were no defects upon arrival, I threw away all retail packaging so I can't return or replace. Pity. In terms of cons when it's working properly, the black levels aren't great. It's an IPS though, so what are ya gonna do.
Overall Review: I came from a BenQ XL2730Z, so the move back to IPS was a good one for colors alone. Motion handling was a big step up as well, not expected at all since I was on TN. EDIT: This monitor has developed two more very stubborn dead pixels since I originally posted this, and IPS glow has also gotten worse somehow??? If I was unlucky then oh boy did I draw the short straw. Score has been updated to reflect this, which is a shame as it came highly recommended by everyone. I no longer recommend this monitor.
Pros: -Great Color Accuracy -Crosshair Overlay with just a dot is what I always wanted, coming over from ASUS
Cons: -Slight input delay at low frame rates, so if you dont have a quality card that can push 1440p at high frames, probably should get something else. -No Swivel
Overall Review: I would recommend to everyone. But, I heard there is a new model 27GN800 which is coming out in a month or so for cheaper with same panel.
Pros: Great colour Easy set up
Cons: Expensive Stand is lame
Overall Review: 10/10 would buy again
Pros: as mentioned in the title this monitor has it all as per the specs given by LG. - Has G-sync, even though it is not the latest module and only is using display port 1.4 standard of VRR - the panel is fastest responding IPS panel i have had to date - 144hz refresh rate is buttery smooth - 1440p resolution is best comprise between 1080p and 4k resolutions for high refresh gaming and pixel density.
Cons: I have to warn anyone thinking that back light bleed/ IPS panel glow is fixed with this model, you will be disappointed as it is still here even in the year 2020. If you can live with that then great, buy it, otherwise IMO these monitors are too expensive to have quality issues to recommend buying. Lastly HDR mode is not even worth mentioning as it looks like over saturated garbage.
Overall Review: over all it is a good monitor if you can find one that has no back light bleed and/or IPS glow and you don't plan to buy this for HDR gaming.
Pros: The monitor itself in terms of specs is what I am looking for in 27" 1440p resolution, IPS nano display, with respectable 144hz. Not sure if 1ms claim is legit, but wait for a professional review for that. Build Quality is meh, not as nice as the previous monitor Alienware AW2518h but gets a respectable pass. I like the design of the monitor for its non-existing bezel and lack of "hardcore gamer" look.
Cons: Like always, with these panels, it's a hit or miss, I happen to be unlucky with my first unit where I can see Backlight bleeding in the corners. It's not as bad as older panels with Asus and the others, but it is still annoying to see especially at this price. Go figure LG would rush these panels out and make so many units to fill the stock around the world there are bounds to be a good portion that isn't properly QC'ed. The IPS glow is also somewhat worse on this when being compared to my other LG Ultrawide IPS monitor when compared side by side.
Overall Review: All in all, I ordered an additional unit to compare and send back the worse one. If the new one is also not up to my standards, repeat this process. Because of the hassle, I am giving it a lower rating than otherwise a good product.

Pros: - High response time with very low pixel response time, even on the recommended "Fast" pixel response setting. (Don't use "Faster" setting, as the 1ms is a marketing gimmick which can only be achieved without introducing visual artifacts. See TFTCentral review.) - No measurable ghosting, blur, overshoot, etc. at 144hz with "Fast" response time (recommended setting). - Excellent colour accuracy. - Excellent viewing angles. - Text is very sharp. - Stand has great height options and goes up & down easily. - Very bright, in fact it comes calibrated with brightness around 35%, and I have mine set to 55% and it's perfect. - Each monitor is calibrated before packaging, so most variables in manufacturing will be cancelled out by the calibrations. A calibration report is in the box. - Just the right size for a 1440p display. Pixel density is great, just like on any 1440p 27" panel. - Not a single dead pixel on any of the three units I've personally tested. - G-Sync Compatible (Adaptive Sync); in fact it performs better than a full G-Sync certified panel I tested. (The pixel response and low
Cons: - The backlight is slightly darker in the lower left and right corners, but you can really only notice it if you do a full-screen white test to look for backlight distribution. I've tried 3 of these panels and they all have the same issue. However, I don't notice it during everyday usage or gaming, so I'm happy to live with this very minor imperfection. - Apparently the HDR support isn't great due to the fact that there is no local dimming. But HDR support & standards have a long way to go in general, so I don't expect to use it on this monitor. - Stand has no swivel and as strangely sharp, pointed tips. But I've wall-mounted mine, so it doesn't affect me at all. - Slightly lower contrast ratio than the average IPS panel, but I can still easily tell black from almost black (e.g. RGB(3,3,3)), so I haven't noticed the difference.
Overall Review: After trying a few high-end 27" and 32" gaming monitors, this is the winner for me. The viewing angles and colour accuracy are fantastic, thanks to the IPS panel. Text is super sharp. There is no noticeable blur or ghosting at the "Fast" response time, which is the setting recommended for this panel by TFTCentral. Runs very smoothly with no visible artifacts at 144hz. Slightly lower contrast ratio than the average IPS panel, but the fast response time more than makes up for the minor loss of contrast.
