It is not force feedback, but does have some resistance. It will center itself. I used the joystick to fly helicopters in ARMA 3.

I've used these from BF2 to BF3 and now BF4 (PC of course) and they work like a champ. My son also uses the same model on BF4

I do know that it does work with windows 10 and functions correctly. Some setup may be required to get it to trigger the right actions with your game though. I have not played SWBF thought and can not promise that it will be 100% match. However if the game supports joystick use then you should be fine. I did notice though using mine in both Planet Side 2 and Battle Field 4 that the lever on the base (I tried using for throttle control) really doesn't actuate well. You basically have     no gas/ medium gas/ or full throttle. Not gradually increasing or decreasing based on where the lever is.

You need a usb to plug into, as far as online gaming I use my extreme 3D Pro to play World of War Planes hope that answers your questions.

Exactly how long is the USB cable? I usually play about 7-8 feet away from my computer with a wireless mouse and keyboard so anything under 10 feet would be clunky.

The big problem will be the thumb trigger on the left side.  Even if you don't need it, I suspect that gripping with your other hand would be quite uncomfortable.  Of less importance, many of the extra keys are on the left side of the base and would be difficult to use with your right hand.  There are true ambidextrous joysticks to choose from, in your price range, look at the Saitek Cyborg and the Logitech Attack 3.
