Can you answer the phone from the device itself?

Depends on the app you are running.  Using 8x8 desktop soft phone and it doesn't work, which is a negative for me.  I believe it works for Skype.  Besides that this is a must have asset if you are on the phone a lot of biz.

Question 2

Has any one used several of these in close proximity to each other? I am considering deploying 8 of them with users that are ony 6 feet apart.

Only one unit here - but i don't think that should be a problem.  However, i do have to let you know that I have already returned/exchanged my head set b/c (I think) static electricity from my finger caused the headset to short.  This creates an unbearable static noise from the microphone and headset.  Logitech was nice enough to  exchange with a new one, but sadly the one exchanged is having the same problem again after getting shocked from my finger.

When it worked it was great.

Question 3

Has anyone used this product for dictating purposes - to record memos on word documents?

Microphone quality is very good.  I have used it with dragon speaking software for over a year now and its been great with no issues. I dont know how i got along without it before.

can you put the mic/headphone on ether ear?

Judging from the pictures, yes.  First picture shows orientation with speaker on Right ear.  Second picture shows orientation with speaker on Left ear.
