I have had these speakers since October 7th, 2013 and I have never noticed any weird noises.  They are good speakers, reliable and discrete. I keep my phone next to me quite often while using the computer and I've never had any trouble with them.

The treble and bass are sufficient, but these aren't speakers for throwing parties with heavy bass. Their general use--for the price--is perfect. They are not high performance, but they don't claim to be.

No static when changing volume either, which is problems I've had with speakers in the past--and I travel with these speakers fairly often.

No. The jack on the size of the right speaker is a headphone-out extension jack, only. There isn't a mic-in, and likewise there isn't a mic-out that would plug back into the computer.

Yes. They are currently plugged into a desktop computer. Still work well.
