Do I need to buy a soundcard for these set? Or this could work just fine with my onboard audio?

That depends on your onboard audio, but chances are it would be fine. Most onboard audio these days is pretty high quality. No matter what you'll get fine sound out of it, but it's possible it'll sound *slightly* better with a high quality sound card. If you're buying these speakers though, you're probably not an audiophile and wouldn't notice the difference.

Will Speaker sounds the best for Gaming & Music?

No Dedicated Sound Card required, right?

Speaker sounds amazing for music and gaming. Subwoofer performs very well turning dull music into something completely new. If used in a small room this thing is guaranteed to get the walls thumping.

Don't believe you need a dedicated sound card to use this item. Mine plugs into the back of my computer via one auxiliary cord. It's very nice because you can use the whole system with a phone or iPod just as easily.

I got the z623 and would highly recommend it. Got an email asking if I could answer some questions for newegg and felt it was worth my time to recommend the speakers to you.

will it work on a tv ?

I am not certain but if you look at the specs for this system it states it is compatible with
"Most devices with 3.5mm or RCA outputs, including computers, TVs, DVD players, MP3 players, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 or Nintendo Wii."

how quite can you tern the bass to on them? all the way down? i dont want to wake the kids and thay are right above my computer set up

The bass turns all the way down. This virtually eliminates the bass and makes the music/whatever much quieter. I personally turn the bass all the way up since my computer is essentially in a closet. The bass on these things is MASSIVE.

How big is the subwoofer box on this?

9" wide, a foot deep, and 11" tall.

it's a beast. it will literally destroy a large apartment building if turned up to max.

If I buy two of these, can i hook both up to each other or to the sound card to have a 4 speaker set up?

Honestly don't think you need to do that.. these speakers are very capable on their own but if you wanted to the only way I see it working would be with a y cable splitter. However you would end up with a 4.2 setup because both satellites hook up to the subwoofer. If you really want a 5.1 set up go with one that is made for it. However if you are looking for a good 2.1 this is one of the best I've had and the sub really kicks

What is the range from low to high?

The system has great range for the size. it honestly almost beats out a 10" sub i own, but the range is very good. i'd say down to about 20hz is the low and that's filled very nicely. the highs are pretty crisp but you can tune your EQ to whatever you want.  they can handle it.

Question 8

I heard there are ways to remove the giant grill from the sub and the woofers because people claim they sound better.  How would I do so?

I wouldn't reccomend taking off the grill. It protects the speaker tremendously. Also, removing it wouldn't result in better sound quality.

Input: 110-120V ~ 60Hz 900mA

For future reference you can sometimes zoom in on the pictures newegg is provided with and sometimes see the voltage of electronics.

I believe its required by law to do so?

Question 10

I know these have a plug to pass sound to your headphones.  Do they also have an input to pass your microphone line in?

They don't have a microphone passthrough but they have a music input jack that will allow you to hook an MP3 player in through the right speaker for listening to music.
