I'm guessing that this won't work on both Xbox 360 and PC right?

I'm using them for my pc.  The connection is a regular USB plug.  As for the xbox, don't see that happening with these.  Hope that helps.

Using this device , together with speakers..and my Pc set the headset as default communication device, so no sound while using internet etc.How can i hv sound both on speakers and headset on all the apps??

See what software you are using in your control panel/sound/devices. Set this/unless you have a sound card for your default for everything.

I want to record videos for YouTube and am on a budget. Would this be a good headset for recording audio via my voice in terms of playback quality?

The quality of sound that comes through the headset is great. I cannot speak much for the mic since my headset was damaged because of outside circumstance (Somehow, the cord was ripped out of the lining). But when I did have the mic working, I was getting a good sound quality from my friends when we would skype and play video games together.
