does it work with an iPhone?

s far as I know, with the right adapters, yes. Perrsonally, I would choose a behind the head blutooth headset that has ear buds. The battery is huge and out of the way.

will this work with 8.1?

This headset has been working perfectly on all three of my Windows systems (7 Enterprise, 8.1 Pro and 10 Enterprise - my line of work requires I have all three). Other than listening to music, I use it for all my Skype, GoToAssist/Meetings and WebEx sessions and the sound is clear and microphone works great.

my business landline phone is not equipped with headset jack, do these work with my phone system?

I connect to my pc via usb. I don't know how you could connect to to your system unless you have a usb connector. If you did I would still call Microsoft to confirm it would work before buying it. For my use,Google voice and any pc audio it is real nice.
