Pros: Bought this laptop as an upgrade from my MSI GL62M 7RD. Have had it for about a week now and I am nothing but impressed. The card runs everything I need it to at 120 FPS. The GPU runs at about 60C when gaming for hours. But the CPU runs at about 80C. This is without a cooling pad. The fans with the booster keep it cool enough that you don’t need to worry about over heating.
Cons: My only complains so far is that there are 3 USB ports. Two of which are on the right side. This is a bit annoying as I use usb for both my mouse and headset. So sometimes I find my self fighting the cords or bumping into the cable input. But will be going wireless for that reason. And for bloatware. It wasn’t too bad. Maybe 5 minutes of going through the program but you’re buying a pre programmed laptop. And I would recommend upgrading the ssd. I’m at 50% usage just at start up with no other programs other than OS on it. Otherwise I’m in love with this laptop so far
Pros: -fast performance
-able to run demanding game such as bf5 or any other games on ultra settings with smooth frame rates.
-built quality is solid
Cons: -Cpu temp are quite high , when playing bf5 which is cpu demanding game , the temp will spike up to 98degrees celcius, bear in mind this is without cooler boost on and without cooling pad.
-only come with 1 single channel 16gb ram , this causing stuttering and Low frame rates when gaming.
Overall Review: Remember to get another piece of 16gb ram to make it in dual channel mode, and u will see your game running buttery smooth.
Secondly , undervolt the cpu for better cpu temp.
Overall this laptop has amazed me despite the cpu temp!
Pros: 120Hz screen, Cheap compared to many other laptops running the RTX 1060. Thin and seems solid.
Cons: CPU gets very hot and you will need to use a program to undervolt some. I used XTU and undervolted 120mV in order to keep some of the cores from throttling when running games. Fans can get loud but this is normal of just about any gaming laptop without properly modding the laptop.
Pros: worked great for a few months.
Cons: worked great for a few months. didnt do anything crazy. i have 3 kids that play roblox on 3 different computers. the first one plays on an old laptop (not even a gaming laptop) and it NEVER had an issue. the 2nd one plays tons of games on a gaming desktop computer. I myself play on a gaming computer with no issues at all for a long time. However, this MSI gaming laptop is for my daughter she plays roblox and watches youtube. nothing crazy. this laptop had several issues only after a few months. I fixed it by replacing the hard drive and then it just continues having severe issues. Ive been using all sorts of different computers for several years. this is the first time I tried the MSI computer.
Overall Review: will never deal with MSI computers ever again.
Pros: Runs great. MSI Products so far in my experience are grade A awesome.
Overall Review: I bought it for PoE of all games. Make sure to tweak the performance mode in the provided software (button next to cool boost). Bought a 1tb nvme ssd (as it has an extra slot for one) and upgraded the ram to 32 gigs.
Overall Review: The main games I play are: Borderlands 2 & 3, League of Legends, Fallout 4, Company of Heroes 2 and Vermintide 2. While playing the more graphically intensive games, the fans can become quite loud (namely Fallout 4). Otherwise, it runs the game quite well! Usually over 60 FPS with high settings. I did pick up a laptop cooler to try to help the heat dissipation like some of the other reviews suggested as well.
Pros: It looks nice.
Cons: Computer wouldn't even turn on. I followed the provided instructions for starting up the computer the first time. What I ended up with was a computer that just sat there. No boot screen, no fans, nothing. Occasionally my power button would flash which doing a quick google search came back with I had internal power issues.
Overall Review: Very disappointed with this product.
Pros: Fast! Great cpu and video.
Pretty good screen
Cons: 1) the battery life while unplugged is horrible and 2) the trackpad isn’t anything to brag about
Overall Review: Overall pretty happy with this laptop. I got the Rtx 2060 with 128GB SSD + 1TB HDD and 16GB RAM. Compared to other laptops with the same caliber of components, this MSI setup is the best value for your money. I’ve been impressed by MSI’s graphics cards in past desktop builds and this laptop didn’t disappoint. Thanks to the upgrades added by CUK it makes anything from gaming to project work a breeze. The 17 inch screen allows me to have multiple windows up for multitasking. Aesthetically it looks great. I like it because it’s not overly flashy like many gaming laptops on the market. The trackpad was not a big deal to me since I have a wireless mouse that I use. If anyone has been on the fence about getting a new gaming laptop I would absolutely recommend this one
