Does this cable have proper braided shielding to protect against receiving RFI? USB 2.0 more or less requires this for reliable HighSpeed (480Mhz) operation.

I have no problem with RFI, I think if u want an authoritative answer, check the Nippon Web Site. What I Really like about these is the Plug In Heads are not as large as others and will fit between other over-sized heads - say, in between two other cord plug heads, when you have 3 HDMI inputs right next to each other. These cords work as well as the $40 cords.

would this cable work for extending a wifi adapter? I'm asking because of some reviews stating this cable  doesn't supply power very well and it didn't recognize  some devices. I may be using several cables linked together for a good signal on my home wifi.will these  do the trick?

I use mine for my keyboard and mouse until I find a wireless set I like.  But yes, it will work with a usb wifi adapter.  Just make note, the female port is somewhat loose fitting (That sounds dirty).  You may need to use some masking tape to secure the connection.
