Pros: Awesome processor and graphics card.
Touchscreen is very responsive.
Convertible feature is very solid and not flimsy at all.
M.2 slot so you can add a second drive.
Nice back lit keyboard.
Cons: Included hard drive is extremely slow. 100% usage when laptop is idle and writing 1MBps. With such a slow hard drive you can't really get the benefits of the fast CPU and GPU.
The specs say you can upgrade the memory but that is incorrect on this model.
Overall Review: If you plan to upgrade to a SSD then I would 100% recommend this.
As it is out of the box I would not recommend this at all.
I was so frustrated with it that I wanted to return it within 30 minutes until I found the hard drive was a huge slow down. After a SSD upgrade it has become my favorite Laptop ever!
Pros: Screen (Glossy, but colors look better on it than some others in similar range)
keyboard (although that was DOA on the original one I received)
Cons: speakers (go in and out of sounding blown out at times.
hdd that comes with it.
NO INFO ANYWHERE when doing stuff yourself. I could not find anything when looking for what to do for the hdd to ssd swap, or for internals layout on the laptop. Its not major, but frustrating.
Overall Review: I know it is not a hardcore gaming laptop and that is great with me. I wanted to play a few games, but also use the touchscreen for a few design programs, and this seems to be the most reasonably priced laptop to do both of those. So far no complaints after receiving the first one that half of the keyboard didnt work.
Pros: -long battery life for something mobile and gamer oriented
-screen size is perfect
-plays anything I've thrown at it at at least medium settings (Hellblade, Me:Andromeda, Grid 2)
-temperatures never go above 70c during games
Cons: -fan can get pretty loud at max load, but something this mobile/versatile usually can't even game, so its a fair tradeoff
-the HDD this thing comes with is a piece of s***. It's loud and slow. It's a 5400RPM HDD if you're curious.
Overall Review: As another commenter mentioned, replacing the HDD with pretty much any cheap SSD dramatically improves performance and acoustics. I bought a Samsung 850-V Pro 500GB, and my system performance across the board nearly quadrupled. This thing is absolutely worth it as long as you replace the storage.
Pros: Small, thin, light. Looks rather nice, not garish.
(never even booted it up so I don't know how it runs)
Cons: Something that was never mentioned in any review or description:
The ram is soldered onto the MB, so what you buy is what you get, and that is that.
Overall Review: A platter HD really is pretty unacceptable for a laptop hard drive today. Even chromebooks come with m.2 drives now days.
Pros: looks nice. feels nice.
Cons: doesnt work
Overall Review: It came in the mail and I turned it on once and it worked pretty fine, but within a half hour it crashed and now won't start because it says part of the PC is unreachable/can't be accessed and needs to be repaired. Glad I spent almost $1,000 on this lol
