Is the mic removable?

Not removable, but the mic easily collapses back into the ear piece - pull out when using, push back in when done. It's fully bendable and adjusts to comfortable position.

All in all I love the headset. Great sound and great noise cancelling mic. The earpieces do start to hurt after a few hours of gaming. Had an issue with one ear going out and Razer sent me a brand new headset even though the warranty was expired by 3 months.

Does this headset work with USB 3.0 ports?

Yes, as far as i'm concerned it does.

Although I don't have this headset anymore, I sent it back to receive a full refund because the headset ear-cups hurt my ears after a long period of gaming.

Quality wise the headset is great, but it just wasn't for me..

Question 3

so this headset is 7.1 but my sound card does not support 7.1 sound.So i was looking for some external usb 7.1 sound cards and i found allot of them,but this headset is usb-plugged.And none of the usb sound cards support usb...What can i do?Can you tell me the name of one usb sound card that supports usb?

The headset does not require additional hardware in order to utilize the 7.1 functionality.  So if you're looking for an additional soundcard for that reason, you don't need to.

This headset provides 7.1 by software emulation and calibration.  While I have yet to play a game that utilizes this function; you can at least test drive the software that emulates the 7.1 by downloading it from Razer's official website.  I'm dubious of software emulation; however, it appears to do the job well based on the tests within the software.

That said, I have not regret my purchase of the headset.  The mic is crystal clear, it reproduces sound better than some of my DJ headsets, and it doesn't feel heavy - even after long hours of wear.

I don't know wich headset to choose...these or logitech g930?i heard that the g930's signal is always going down but i've also heard some good stuff 'bout it...

I was also worried about choosing. I will say a couple down sides. The cord is a bit short. And if you have really big ears, they may not fit. But. Besides those two issues. This headset is amazing. The sound is incredible. And the surround sound is even better. I play a lot of CS:GO and I can hear people almost across the maps. It's just that insane. So for the price of this wired headset. It's a good deal.

Is it comfortable for long time wearing?

Absolutely. I've worn them for over 12 hrs at a time, and I don't haven't issues.

Question 6

Is there any white noise? A few reviews said that there is lots of white noise making it hard to deal with. Also is there a talkback feature? Where you hear yourself as you speak, to ensure you are not yelling? It's a lot of questions, and any response is appreciated, thanks!

Listening can be enabled via windows, and as far as white noise I haven't noticed any issues with my set, even on the lowest volume levels. Could possibly be the other customers didn't calibrate their headset correctly in the synapse software.

Overall, its a great headset and the sound and voice quality is amazing. I would be to concerned about purchasing this item. its served me well and I have had it since this model came out.

Does this have the retractable mic like the razer chroma?

Fully retractable.  Button on the mic turns on occasionally if you push it all the way in because it bumps the tube it fits in, but as long as you pay attention when pushing your mic back in it wont turn on.  You can turn it off while it's in if you have nimble fingers but if you have large hands it can be difficult.

I'm not a gamer, just bumped into this set while searching for a USB-style headset to use for music and also for Skype on my Mac. Logitech has some cheaper models, but am hoping to find something that gives best possible sound and mic quality via USB.  Will this set provide this, or other set recommended?

Razer has software you can install on your computer to actually EQ the headset itself, making the sound quality suit your ears, as well as carries other various features that make the headset extremely versatile to use. The program itself is very user friendly. The mic transmits a clear signal so your voice should come out just as normal. The headset is also very comfortable on your head and ears and can year them for hours on end. I've used this headset for almost a year now and never had a problem with them. Although Razer products are little more expensive, the quality is superior in more ways then one. I would choose these over cheaper models of Logitech any day.

So i've got a laptop and me sound card is realtek high definition audio.the codec is ALC270.Is this headset going to sound good on my laptop?

I'm pretty sure since it's a USB device that your sound card isn't going to make a huge difference. I actually own this headset myself, I have Realtek Audio in my computer and I am in love with it. Everyone says I sound great when talking through the headset and I can wear it for hours at a time and feel completely comfortable. It's definitely the best sounding headset I have ever owned, and I 100% recommend you buy it.

Question 10

One of the things I loved about the Logitech G35s was the ability ti turn the surround sound off for various things.  Are you able to turn the 7.1 off and make it run in 2.1 for various things?
