does this come with a USB adapter?

No, it does not come with a USB adapter.  I thought the person I bought this for specifically wanted the 3.5 mm line out/microphone connectors, but it turns out they preferred USB.  So, they bought an adapter for ~$12.

How long is the cord? Do you think it is of adequate length?

It's pretty long as far as cords go.  I've never had a problem with it at my desk, and it even lets you get up and have some room to grab stuff.  You may even want to keep it tied up a little, I have had a problem with it getting caught in the wheels of my chair.

Does it have two 3.5 mm jacks? Why? Do both have to be plugged in?

Yes, it does have two 3.5 mm jacks. One is for the headphone input- to hear sound, and the other is for mic input- to speak into the mic. 
If you plan on using both the headphone and the mic, then yes, both need to be plugged in. If you plan on using only the headphone, then just plug the headphone's 3.5 mm jack in the input. Most newer laptops have a combo headphone/mic input, like Macbook Pros. There are adaptors that you can use, if your computer/laptop has a combo headphone/mic input.

How do I connect it to my laptop? Is there 1 usb, 1 mic plug, and 1 audio plug or 1 usb and 1 plug

It has a 3.5mm stereo output jack (the green ended cable with headphones on it), and a 3.5mm mic jack (The pink ended cable with a microphone on it) :) hope this helps!

Is there a soundcard already built in? or is that just mic control?

The control on the wire adjusts the volume on the headset and there is a switch to mute the mic.

Hello. So I bought these around November of 2014 and since I bought them. They have somehow been damaged physically. After having them for just over a month, the plastic area above the ear cup started cracking on both sides. Since then, the right side has gotten worse to the point where no the bottom of the right cup is bent in an outward position away from my ear. The headset still works great and I have tried putting duct tape on it to fix the bending but nothing seems to work. While I do intend to call Logitech to hopefully replace my product, I would like to know if this is a common thing. Has anyone else had physical problems like this in the past? Thanks! :)

Hello. The Logitech G230 is indeed a great item and definitely is one of the best bang for the buck headsets out there. Your issue with the piece above the ear-cup is pretty common me and my friend both bought the Logitech G230 and I experienced the same problem I think the piece of plastic above the ear piece has a lot of stress on it and the if the plastic has enough pressure on it, it will crack. Can anybody tell me the length of the cable for this particular headset? I am interested in a headset with long cable (about 10 ft or longer)

Yes the cable is extremely long I don't know exactly how long it is but since I sit right next to my computer I have to zip tie the cable because it's so long I hope that helps u out

I recently just purchased this headset. I was just wondering will this be able to work on a laptop? I want to be able to talk to friends on skype/teamspeak etc

It will work on a laptop as long as it has a 3.5mm plug for the microphone and the headset. Most newer laptops have a combo 3.5mm plug, like a Macbook, so there is only one 3.5mm. If your laptop only as one 3.5mm plug, there are adaptors that has two female to one male 3.5mm plugs.

Alright so Im really interested in this headset (mainly for the color scheme tbh) but my main concern is that its not surround sound. I mostly play first person shooters so thats a must. Do you guys use a sound card or something to improve the audio?If so, which one?Or does it already sound like 7.1 and im worring for nothing?

I don't play games.  I got it because it's comfortable; even after 2+ hours.  I do agree that the color scheme is nice. 
To answer your questions, no, it isn't 7.1 surround.  It is stereo.  There are sound adaptors that plug into the USB of the computer or laptop that will enable 7.1 surround.  I honestly don't know which ones are good.
If you really want 7.1 surround, and like the STYLE of the headset G230, the Logitech G430 looks just as nice.  It's blue.
Word of advice, if you really need and want 7.1 surround on your headset, the color scheme of a headset isn't gonna give it to you.  Get a headset that'll meet your needs, not because of the cool factor.  Happy gaming.

Are these headsets fragile? I plan on using them for listening to music for the times I'll be traveling (mostly on airplane) and I'd hate if the internals damaged from shaking.

They are not in any way fragile, or not at least so fragile that they'll break in travel. But they're not as snug fit as I'd personally would like them to be.
Having used them as long as I have, I wouldn't buy them again.
